GE microwave model jvm3160rf5ss. I was able to remove the door and replace the handle but having trouble reattaching the door.

So I got the handlebar back on. Period but the microwave wouldn’t turn on. Somehow, I couldn’t get the piece to seal. It would have been nice to see the microwave power back on

The problem is not accessing the screws and removing it but finding a new part. Im going to try and replace it with a chrome steal kitchen cabinet handle. I just hope that the distance of the screw holes match. You shouldnt be using a butter knife but something thinner such as a puddy knife.

Or…just buy a new microwave because the one you have is like mine at 20+ years old. I’m not beneath manual labor or problem solving but my time has become more valuable on nights and weekends than the $300-$400 to buy a new one
