If you are going the wheel effects deck with huge monsters, why not have someone like Nekusar in there?? All the damage from Nekusar and from Vial Smasher will help you finish off all your opponents pretty quickly, not to mention casting a big eldrazi on turn 5 or 6, deal 11 or 12 damage to a random player?? Seems pretty sweet to me! Vial Smasher + 'K' = lots of huge spells and lots of huge damage to enemies.....a win-win!

Liliana's caress would be a great addition as you make your opponents discard their hand and it deals 2 damage to every card discarded. can be a real pain when paired with Whispering Madness, the Wheel, Reforge the soul and whatever that discards the hand

Nekusar, Megrim, and Liliana's Caress all work very well in the deck as well. Splendid Reclamation might also be very good in this deck due to the discard effects so lands pile up in the graveyard. Devil's Play is very good because you can use the mana to cast it from the graveyard and kill a player. Mystic Retrieval is also very helpful to get instants are sorceries back from the grave if you really need them.

I appreciate the lighthearted discussion on kydele' name and truthfully, you're right, it doesn't matter how people pronounce her name. She is just a cool card, and I think she or Yidris could be awesome Generals for the deck although it needs some heavy editing either way. Your suggestions were pretty on point, a lot can be cut from this deck, but it looks pretty fun. My biggest concern is the glaring lack of recursion which is pretty inexcusable for black and green. They could have put genesis or skullwinder in there. Even empty the catacombs or something.

Yidris Mill - Play a ton of wheel effects and hand destruction (ideally ways to exile specific cards, like "Oldlamog" and "Old-Kozilek") Add a bunch of howling mine effects and now you look like everybody's best friend. I can definitely see K and one of the B/R partners working extremely well here to. Yidris Spellslinging Craziness - Basically a Mizzix deck that plays a ton of wheel effects and Past in Flames-like cards to burn everybody out. Could be really funny because burn is not traditionally a very good strategy in Commander. Yidris Says "No" - Play every removal spell you can think of that destroys multiple things like "Fiery Confluence" "Decimate" and "Hull Breach"

Looking at the gaps in Yidris' deck, am I the only one who runs a Rogue's Passage as one of the utility lands for decks with a commander who focuses on dealing combat damage? Even a Key to the City would work, heck, that one even benefits Kydele (which I think would be pronounced as Kid-ay-lay) because of its triggered draw. Looking into the cheapest replacements for Parting Thoughts, I get Bone Splinters, Devour in Shadow, Feast of Blood, Murder, Murderous Cut, a suspended Phthithis, Pongify, Rapid Hybridization, Sinister Concoction, Terminate, Unlicensed Disintegration, and...Viscerid Drone?!

I played in a release pod tournament with the yidris deck. I used him as my commander. he does really well out of the deck. some of the things that go well with him I have found after playing precon then pulling some of the non important creature and instant and sorcery cards and in their place adding all of the cascade trigger cards. I believe there are 6? that I added. plus I tweaked the mana base a little and added all the necessary signats. so Maelstrom Wanderer was $9 and the clump of other cards I added was only $4 and with those additions I was able to effectively beat several decks today in a commander tournament.

Ydris is very strong and the theme was very good tackled. Try to play it casting first the lowest curve cards, so you will have something close to a tutor. Add to the list dream cache and scroll rack. Some double strike and many haste efects.

I'll run Ydris as commander in my Animar deck. This will make my deck worse but also less all-in on one strategy. With the addition of some planeswalkers and tutors it will be a lot of fun. Also I will add Meren and Ezuri so they can share some experience counters :)

Yidris is cool in an instant/sorcery deck with Eye of the Storm and some extra combat spells. And of course, run some stuff with Storm.

I believe that the reason why there are so many graveyard/discard effects in this deck is because it is a way of saving your spell's from being exiled with Yidris while he is cascading.

Since there are so many wheel effects and library cycling/card draw, why not go the way of Underworld Dreams and Ob-Nixilis Reignited. There are other effects that punish your opponents for drawing cards. If you run Dictate of Kruphix, Howling Mine, Underworld, Fate Unraveler, Kederekt Parasite, and so forth, then you are playing on the overall strengths of the deck. However, I still think that running Yidris as Commander is probably better for this strategy.

Just run Yidris with a bunch of other cards with cascade abilities so they trigger an additional time. Even if you aren't able to get Yidris to work his affect, you still have other cards with cascade.

I think that Yidris is just a goodstuff deck. And to be honest, I'm okay with playing one good card, then cascading into another good card. The only thing is, I am going to remove the opponent-discard cards, and add in Double Strike/Extra Combat cards.

I personally think the deck works better as a Thrasios + Vial Smasher control deck (with occasional sick turns) Basically, play Thrasios early (Vial Smasher not essential but good), and keep up mana every single turn. If they don't do anything against you, use Thrasios, otherwise counter their plays with your sweet instants. After you've ramped a lot and drawn a bunch of cards, you can start going off with things like Turnabout and wheel effects. Not to mention how insane Seedborn Muse is with Thrasios.

I played Yidris straight out of the box against Atraxa straight out of the box, was really deep in the hole, pulled the Whims of the Fate, and made the gamble, all my permanents in one pile, roll the die, 1-2 is sac everything, 3-6 is sac nothing. I rolled a 1.

Agree that Blood Tyrant isn't great, but that with Whispering Madness ciphered allowed me to hit and start the chain wheels. Nearly decked myself AND thanks to an opponent's Stalking Vengeance and a large Managorger Hydra, I nearly one-shot myself with a board wipe. #newbieproblems

How I am gonna build kydele is pair it with kraum. How it will work is I want up to about 10-15 mana and start chaining my wheels effects until I get enough mana to kill everyone with fireball effects, I am also gonna run all of the eldrazi just for the shuffle so I can keep going and recycle my graveyards and my wheel effects

When talking about +1/+1 creatures you always forget about academy elite. When playing the precon deck on xmage I won by killing a 42/42 elite (he stole it with the g.drake) off parting thougts. All is all Yidris is my favourite precon deck and he will be a super commander to build a storm deck around

Nekusar, the Mindrazer, Underworld Dreams, Spiteful visions, Rocky Tar Pit, Malignant Growth, Mountain Valley, Bad River , all of those benefit the wheel theme, or help with mana, also they are kinda cheap. Getting rid of the TERRIBLE gain a life come into play lands, would be a good thing, all three of the mirage fetches can get any sort of and they list, so you could grab a ABUR dual, Rav block shock, RTZ land, stuff like that, also pulls you away from non basics. You can potentially look at Natural Balance because it can help you and get you some lovely tears of sadness from people, all the on color multi color charms are worth a peek for utility, Shardless agent, is also worth a look, as depending on how you tweak your list it can be a pseudo tutor. I would never... ever play anything with annihilator, or new Ulamog, it triggers before contact, is non interactive and not rewarding to play, or lose to. Your deck's focus is still very muddled, also I tried to not mention anything over a few bucks. I would of course mention as you did: Farseek, Explosive Vegetation, Sylvan Claim, Kodama's Reach, Cultivate, Hunting Wilds. I would also tweak the card draw, Adding Brainstorm, Ponder, Preordain, Serum visions. Brainstorm is awesome with the draw card general as you *draw* the 3 cards. Very budget upgrades, which helps more people than the changes I would make such as *grabs a few thousand dollars of fetch and dual lands* which only a small portion of players can do, and is thus pointless.
