I recently made a xenagos deck too! Haven't got to try it out yet tho.. I'm still tuning it. I play selvala as my main beatdown / overrun + infinite mana type of strategy, so I built xenagos to be a little more on the casual side.

@@derekwalter4238 Yeah some of the best combos with Xenagos I've found so far are: Savage Ventmaw + Aggravated Assault Ilharg + Basically anything Pathbreaker Ibex + 1 big boy

I built this deck on about 60 bucks and won a couple games. Swapped 10 cards to cross 100 bucks and it's an absolute murder machine. I've actually used it to teach a couple local players how to be more political players since the mechanics arnt as complex. ty love you guys and great work

The whole reason I made a Xenagos deck was because I wanted a deck that could one-shot people after they wrath the board for the 6th time. Putrafax and Malignus have done work in that deck. Soul's Fire has also been an all-star.

So surprised Bane of Progress wasn't brought up for xenagos. Gets rid of those pesky enchantments and artifacts and punishes all those opponents by giving you an even bigger creature.

I like using Sight of the scalelords, Charmbreaker devils and Neheb the Eternal, for extra spell usage and mana and VIGILANCE. Primal forcemage turn 3, Ogre slavedriver turn 4, Xenagos turn 5 great curve play; the possible +5/haste from the slavedriver and forcemage can possibly become +10 with Xenagos out:P

I have a Pillow Fort deck on tappedout, and one of the possible win conditions is just simply drawing people out with Blue Sun's Zenith while I sit behind 20 creatures and enchantments that keep people from attacking me.

in terms of power level my meta is so different there's people with edited precons and others with 2000$ mizzix and zur decks the mizzix deck was a bit faster than mine but, adding hate bears that hose that deck and hurt others fixed the match-up pretty well

actually tribute does work with warstorm surge. Tribute is worded "enters the battlefield with x +1/+1 counters" The unpaid tribute ability is etb.

Honestly, the best hidden gem for a deck like this is "Not of this world". Nobody expects a counterspell from a gruul deck that saves the one attack you needed, even against abilities! And a free one with no drawback is just insane...
