Actors don’t exist to me outside of the screen. They are wind-up toys, paid by me to perform. So wind up, perform, and entertain me. You cease to exist once the performance is over. Exactly, I am not expecting Blake Lively to be everyones therapist and help them through their trauma and “triggering”. Not sure why a former professional actor such as Brett Cooper expects Blake Lively to be an expert on DV and how to speak to people about their trauma when she is just an actor. I love Blake Lively and her husband is kind of dorky but he is like a puppy and I will continue to follow and watch them and not expect them to be my moral, emotional or psychological compasses. I also wouldnt look to them for advice on my hair, politics or privacy protection using my cell phone. They are just actors to me. If I wanted someone to get help with DV, I would send them to the renewed freedom center in LA. If they wanted hemp with their hair, I would send them to the best hair dresser I know of in Beverly Hills. If they wanted help with privacy and which cell phone service to use, I would send them to a cybersecurity specialist. If they wanted to better understand politics, I would ask them to look at the outcome of what is happening currently based on voting. I would not again look to Blake and Ryan for any of this. Blake & Ryan are a billionaire brand as a couple and they don’t have to do anything the way China thinks they should AKA tiktoks algorithm which is Chinese. They are American they promote American products and brands and Brett you are ignoring the Chinese influence here from TikTok promoting anti American brands, health and wellness. It is not Blakes place to be an expert on DV. Just because she plays a role doesnt make her an expert and the more people are tricked into seeing this film, the more anti-woman countries that play it the better since it will open up the conversation even more.

@fandomlove66073 ай бұрын
That's what's bugging me so much, he tried to take a step back and let her lead because he knew it was important to have a woman be in the decision making and then finds out the same time as everyone else that they went behind his back and let her husband who is known for comedy movies and writing, when this is a serious and emotional movie, rewrite some of the scenes. That is truly disrespectful. It doesn't matter if you paid for most of it he is still the director, among other things, and is a big part of this. They could've talked with him about it, but they knew it was wrong, hence why they went out of their way to not tell him. Says a lot about them tbh.

Isn't Justin a man as well? How is that any less disrespectful?
@fandomlove66073 ай бұрын
@mrp2301 I'm not trying to be rude, just answering your question from my perspective. It's disrespectful to him because, like I said, he is a main person on this project and put passion and effort into it to tell a story about a woman going through abuse. And almost every interview he dives deep into what that entails and brings light to the main point of the movie, which Blake herself hasn't even done, btw. He acknowledges that although he had a big role, it isn't about him but about women who go through this. He is respectful and pushes the talking point back to women, which he should do to promote it, and just because he is a man doesn't mean he can't be supportive. It's disrespectful because he took a step back specifically to let a woman take over a topic about abuse for women, and instead, she brought her husband to do it behind his back. They could at least talk to him about it since he is the director. It is disrespectful not to be notified about these changes until the general public does. Sorry this is long, I hope I answered it in a non aggressive light.

Like when u read the book, and script defers or changes character narrative, u have a pre made image in your head of the script which may affect your performance style when u're used to the script work. Like when tom holland in mcu was told to cry as if it were a wedding but it was a funeral and the acting was top notch. So, they're used to a certain pattern to do their best. If the pattern of them acting or being instructed is changed by giving them a indepth construct of the character, it could potentially hamper performer. Imagine trying to act out the emotions of - Her laugh symbolised both happiness at being being able to........ And then just being told to cry softly with a smile like saying goodbye for 10 years. Some people just aren't good at being vulnerable or being authentic with strangers. Turns out Blake is one of them. Not that she isn't this way with close friends. She shouldn't have done a movie with such serious themes because it seems that she can't really be serious as a "persona," which makes sense since her and her husband are known to be fun-loving, easy going and sarcastic, and that just doesn't mix with serious DV discussions.

The “fat shaming” is just hilarious. Blake lively is my height (almost 5’11”) so naturally we weigh more than the average woman. I’m 145lbs at my leanest, and would imagine Blake is likely around 130-140lbs. Even with a woman of normal height, asking the weight of someone you’re about to lift when you have back problems isn’t fat shaming, it’s literally just trying to not hurt yourself 😅
