It probably brings him a sense of pride, too, knowing he’s able to provide those expensive clothes for her. Like, that’s one more way he’s able to take care of her and make her happy, and he is proud he’s able to do that for her because he loves her so much. My husband does that, but with food (we most definitely aren’t rich, though). When he has a good paycheck come in, he’ll cook an extra special dinner for me with nicer ingredients than we usually buy. I know that’s his way of showing he loves me, and something he can take extra pride in because HE was able to put that meal on the table.

The internet does not know how to deal with people that are genuinely happy and satisfied with themselves. People are so used to activists that are always saying that they are great and a victim that they do not know how to deal with people that are truly happy

Something that people gotta learn is that some people are just addicted to negativity. It's not that they can't be happy, it's that they don't want to be happy. While some people may look for the best in every situation some people will look for a bad thing even in the best situation. It sounds crazy but its true. Some people just don't want to be happy and hate people who are.

I think it’s funny they want to cancel her for wearing a dress and being from the South. My ex and I once went to a Confederacy Ball held at a historic plantation. The Ball was a recreation of parties they would host in the early/mid 1800s with the proceeds going to the foundation. Everyone dressed up in traditional clothing of the time period. Here we were dressed like real southern confederate plantation elites and not a damn person called us racist, but these kids are racist simply for going to a dance In college? My god how the times have changed

I could understand people having issues with it for religious reasons (rich people...camel.. eye of a needle, vanity, greed, idolatry) or for advocating a series of values that they disagree with. If you think the task of being alive is to live modestly, engage in stewardship of resources, and foreground kindness, and goodness over affluence, then yeah. When you see people watching TV and seeing the homes of Kim K and thinking that's what life is, then you might be concerned about selling people unhappiness and rampant consumerism. But looking up social media posts from college seems unprincipled, petty and malicious. They're wealthy, but social media is for consumption. If Susie sees this stuff and think it's aspirational, then maybe she works hard and gets this quality of life. But if Maria works hard and doesn't get a Birkin, then it's probably better if people are able to be happy absent such things. Additionally, people might have complaints around social mobility that might be valid if the wealth on display here is indicative of ossification (and virtual nobility) rather than meritocracy.

I agree that’s great. But you don’t think it’s weird or fake to put on really expensive clothes, turn on your camera, get your husband to compliment you, turn of your camera, post it on the Internet for millions of strangers to see, and then do the same thing repeatedly? The situations you described were amazing and that’s what every relationship should look like. But did any of the people you mentioned do this?
@sophial3151
@sophial3151 8 ай бұрын
@SarahT523 I think it should be normalized so people, especially young kids, see it and emulate it with their significant other. Not everyone wants to be in the spotlight, so the ones that do and show things that are not hurting anyone I definitely dont mind because I am sure it's not easy to put yourself out there especially now. I am not a fan of the prank videos where couples emotionally and sometimes physically abuse eachother for views, I would much rather see some cute outfits with a few compliments.
@Slacks_HD
@Slacks_HD 8 ай бұрын
@@sophial3151 That doesn’t really have much to do with my point. I wasn’t speaking about this from a societal perspective. Everyone here is saying why are people mad at this. My claim was that no one is really mad it’s just so obviously fake or if not fake than something that’s unhealthy for a relationship. It’s so weird to make all of this happen and then record and post it everyday to complete strangers. As to your point, I think the action of recording private parts of your relationship and posting them daily is a weird and unhealthy thing to do in a relationship. So when you say young kids are going to emulate it, I don’t think that’s a good thing. Their not just going to do it in private because the people they see don’t just do it in private. Young kids are going to start posting every part of their relationship online… like their already doing because that’s what they see. And as I said I think that’s a weird and unhealthy thing. If you disagree then we just see this differently, but im surprised that people think my viewpoint of this is so insane. (I’m not talking about you just the general opinion on this video.)
@sophial3151
@sophial3151 8 ай бұрын
@SarahT523 I never said young kids are going to emulate posting their relationship online. I am purely saying they will see and emulate complimenting eachother and seeing healthy interactions in a relationship is exactly what they should be seeing, there is so much toxic crap out there that there has to be a balance at the least. Like I said, not everyone wants to be online and show their life and it's a grain of sand, compared to how many people are on the earth, that are showing themselves online. Is it weird when Hollywood puts out commercials and TV shows and movies where it shows a husband complimenting his wife? That is 100% fake because they are not even a couple but just actors. People who have become online famous isn't that much different than going into acting, besides that they are showing us more of themselves and not a script written by someone else and just playing a part. I actually find it more interesting, obviously they are trying to show us the best side of themselves but it's definitely more entertaining than any Hollywood script imo.

personally I don't watch this kind of videos. More power to them but I don't need to be reminded of what I lost. But I make the choice to not watch, I do no spend hours trying to figure out how to cancel them. And I have news for everyone, if they can go to Paris and he buys her a $40,000 purse, cancelling them is not going to change their lives at all. If he turned out to be serial killer and that came out would be something else. But getting cancelled for wearing a ballgown to a Southern cotillion at age 18 will do nothing at this point. GET. A.. LIFE.

I get why he lives in those boots, I had a pair of Lucchese Boots and I've never owned a pair of more comfortable shoes, like they'd been made specifically for my feet
