Lol hell yeah man do NOT criticize anything Eminem has done. The stans will swarm quick af. It's great to see that he has such a strong fan base. I like Eminem and his music for the most part but not every thing he does and has done is gold. His fans have a hard time accepting that. I commented on the song he did with Cashis (Pistol Poppin) back in 2006-7 a few months ago and said it was trash (cause it was) and you would think I shit on Eminem's entire discography the way they came at me.

@Deadhammer218
@Deadhammer218 3 жыл бұрын
@@Inverted_Slinger I would say "elitist who's not ignorant", cause the word invokes negative connotations of listening only to X music or music from certain era, but RA is still listening to today's hip hop. In fact he scouts young mad talented MC's like A.F.R.O and even in this video he gave props to some young cats who did not even peak yet, and are already monstrous. He just hates this mumble shit, which should get it's own name, cause it doesn't have a lot in common with rap. I would call mumble rap a sub-genre, like in other genres of music. Let's take metal music - from Heavy Metal you got new genres branching out from bands that started putting a bit of punk into it, thus creating Thrash Metal; on the other hand you have bands like Venom, Hellhammer, Sarcofago etc. whom tried to create the most dark, evil music possible and from them you got genres like Black Metal and Death Metal.

I’m a Stan but I sure ain’t delusional. I don’t take anything as a diss unless I hear something concrete. Stans also need to expand outside of Eminem. He’s great but you need to listen to the people who Eminem praises on all of these songs. Even Eminem looks up to other rappers and says he’s not the greatest. He’s a student of the game, and if you love the genre you need to study too.

Eminem was at the right time when enough listeners were open minded enough. RA was saying similar provakative stuff but way before his time. It actually worked out well for him, while most 90's legends are dead or depressed he is hitting a new prime. Eminem is the best wordsmith I've ever heard, rhymes in rhymes, speed, unexpected vocabulary. RA couldn't spend all his time refining his skills, he had kids, mental issues, and bills and too far ahead of his time to be paid enough for it. However, he is still superb , top 5 for sure and more substance than any of them. *Edit: the kid came at a good time though, later on.* It's RA or Watsky for my all time great, all things considered. I go back and forth, Watsky has more duds but has an artistic understanding beyond anybody. RA is always sick and is the Rawest. Vinnie and Wax are good, but not as good as RA and Watsky respectively.

You’re not a stan then.. a stan are the fans he’s talking about that just like Eminem and maybe a few other rappers that are affiliated or known mainstream but they listen to club music too or other genres or don’t really like music other than Eminem pretty much. People that can’t say a single negative or can’t say anything is bad about Eminem or his music. He has the worst fan base in the world filled with these people. I used to love Eminem and not a fan of his new shit really but every now and then I listen to his old shit and hate that fact that I’ve been put off listening to him and almost feel like I’ve gotta go against him to counter the level of dick riding and absurdity that these people come out with..

Real talk everything he said about Em. It's awesome that the greats respect him because he deserves it, but it's so annoying all the Em fans that know every song from every album of his but don't know who Rakim is. It's like when someone talks about their top 5 and they don't have Em on it, there's always a thousand people saying shit like: "Why is Em not in his top 5? Does he have something against him?". No idiot, he just didn't make the top 5 based on someone's opinion.

The crazy thing about this is that em seems to deeply respect these greats and that he probably wants his fans to know about them. He even gave shoutouts to some of them. That line where he disses lord jamar comes to mind for example: If it was anyone's house, G Rap and Rakim would be havin' you mop floors Run-DMC would be havin' you cleanin' sinks Or the references to the wu-tang-clan shortly before that.

I agree with R.A.'s points towards stans. He also never straight up dissed Em. But neither praised him. For example, in this interview, he says Em is respected by goats, no shit, everybody knows that Em is well-respected. That is a fact and not an opinion of R.A. Being a hard-core fan of both, it sucks that most likely R.A. does not like Em that much. He wouldn't diss him, but wouldn't collab with him either.

But I also think r.a is one of the most down to earth and humbled emcees who has inspired numerous ppl. Even the greats fuck with him and his capability to twist his words together. Seems like a stand up guy. How ever I am a fan of both. But I do lean more towards the underground for varied and obvious reasons. Edit/end note; I do believe myself that this is what I would've wanted. And now being older I think r.a would also agree that where hes at is better then becoming a slave to the industry. He has complete control over his life and his content which any artist wants and needs in order to create quality pieces for such a long time and to be successful at that as an independent.

I can only imagine how annoying it is for RA to have to deal with Stans. He was in his lane before Eminem and these mother fuckers think he is infringing on Eminem's territory. GTFO of here with that nonsense. The thing that annoys me most about Eminem Stans is that they don't even appreciate Eminem fully because they don't understand his historical context. I am like part of why he is great is his knowledge and understanding of hip hop history. He's always shouting out legends. My favourite artists tend to be hip hop aficionados like RA the Rugged Man is. I am convinced hip hop IQ is correlated with hip hop greatness. Seeing two knowledgeable people talking hip hop is always refreshing. Too many other hip hop media outlets I feel like I could ask better questions. Justin always holds it down better than I could ever hope to. He's up there with interviewers that are actual MCs like Crooked I or Talib Kweli.

It's so refreshing to hear someone address Eminem STANS. Not Eminem himself. I honestly feel like if his stans would just CHILL the fuck out, accept that not everyone will love him as much they do, then Eminem's standing in the game would be easier to respect by those who don't fuck with him as much. I always say the way someone views an artist shouldn't be effected by their fans cause that's not the music, but Eminem stans make it really tough to make that distinction because they go so hard for dude. @@valid3383 '99-04 Em would decapitate him imo, but he's fallen off HARD since then. Maybe his skills are more refined now, but as an artist, his stuff is barely listenable now with all the fucking melodramatic pop hooks, stacciatto flows and hypercorny punchlines. Being super lyrical is not enough without substance. I'd like to see him return his roots but that's unlikely to happen without some miracle. The yesmen around him make this seem impossible tho. Remember when Budden said that his album was trash? And ALL of Em's close friends jumped on him like he blasphemed or some shit, when he was clearly right. Em's being kept in a state of disillusion and thinks he's still untouchable. Sad.
@gregtrust5599

@Leventeve I get revival was one of his weakest albums but people said it was whack without listening to it. Em took it personal because of how personal he was in the album talking about his family, daughter, and Proof. Most rappers are scared to reinvent themselves but Em does it over and over because he doesn't give a shit, he has poppy hooks and boring beats but people are tripping when they say he rhymes a bunch of words together without substance or not meaning anything. You better listen to the lyrics more becaus so much shit goes over people's head. That's a lie, no one has put their life in their music more than he did and no one even comes close to the versatility that Em has. He gets a lot of praise but gets way more hate than anybody, people can't be objective when talking about Em, the haters are way too biased and all up in their feelings. The stans are just as bad as his haters

And any 2 rappers can't hop on a song together, forget friendship, they are matters like connection and style. I know RA is legendary and whatever he says about em it's his opinion. R.A been on the same Big pun flow for ages. Eminem switches it up and still goes platinum no problem. Eminem freestyles better. Go see R.A freestyle on Shade where he chokes and needs to use a paper. Eminem hasnt done that.
