LOVE my 9c1 impala...its an 08 and it's a joy to drive. Still has push bumper, spot lights and full prisoner cage in back. Still has headlight flasher but no back flash module. Carpet up front and plastic in the back. Been an amazing car all the way around. The department that it came from is a department out here in AZ that has a pretty good budget so they took care of it.

I didn't realize how bad it was until I starting looking at all the CVPI's out there. So many are losing their paint - the ones that aren't all seem to have a low cost - Maaco type paint job on them. Mine looks like the hood and roof was painted with spray paint and that's not holding up really well either.

I'm still looking to get a pushbar for my 2005 9c1. has spotlight on driver's side, puck antenna on trunk with 3 antenna holes covered, 2 antenna spots on roof, flashlight holder on passenger side and still looking to get a center console.

i have a 2008 9c1, take a look at go rhino push bumpers. thats whats on my impala.contact them direct will save you a lot of time. many products they have.i had a body shop install it 3hrs 150.00. and these guys take all kinds of stuff off all the time.is nice to have on will take a serious hit . will keep your radiator from being knocked out by a deer

The 2005 will be a little harder to find used, not many of that generation Impala on the road anymore and even less of the 9C1 package for that generation. Looks like you have an awesome car! Would love to see that some day!

I agree that normally a FWD is easier in the rain than RWD, but my Crown Vic has proven to be extremely stable and capable on wet roads. My Charger, which has the Goodyear RS tires, sucks in the rain. But with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S or BF Goodrich Comp 2 A/S my Vic's have been super stable

I owned a 2006 Impala LT with the 3900 engine. While it was not a police package car, the ride and handling were superb. The leather front buckets offered a LOT of support. I wish I still had that car!

I used to work as a property inspector for the banks, taking pics of houses and doing vandalism checks here in Chicago. Had a 13 Jetta and after having it broken in to and damaged by knuckleheads multiple times I decided on buying a 9C1 for my next car once I was ready to sell the Jetta. Haven't had any problems since lol (also my first car I bought was an 06 Impala LT that happened to have a column shifter with the bench seat in front, thought that was unique)

I bought one at auction today. $1550 government auction. 163k. New transmission last year. Ext kinda rough and needs some cleaning up from old decals. Can you lead me to that armrest? Gotta clean it in the console area

That armrest is built by HAVIS - when I got mine, the base was already mounted, and I found the top on eBay - look for "Havis" or "Havis armrest" - eventually you'll see one listed that isn't priced ridiculously. I have a newer video on here where I use the Havis base plate that's in my car already to add an extra Havis brand cup holder and tray to keep the "look" but have function.

“Came with the door molding delete”. When NOT getting something is an option... And it’s funny because I pulled the build sheet for my 2015 Explorer XLT and so many things are listed as “delete” including the police package. Navigation and remote start were also deleted, but with a OBDII cable and free software called forscan, I have now turned those on ($1200 or so worth of options). Also set the fog lights to be DRLs. I was able to plug into my 2008 Ford E250 and set it to lick automatically when I start driving. I wonder what could be done on the CVPI with forscan.

I personally don't like the stupid push bar and that is the first thing l remove when l get these cars,along with the oil cooler. The oil coolers are ok when the vehicle is new, but end up being a liability after a few years, especially in the northeast. I have had many over the years and every one with a bad motor was the result of a malfuntion of a component of the cooler. Whether it be from a rust hole or break in a line or the cooler itself,it leaks out oil and usually the motor is damaged by time its discovered. It's best to completely eliminate all the hose and oil filter adapter and just run it without all the oil cooler bs, and in the case of 2012 and newer with the 3.6,you can use a larger filter and have more room to work with. Another issue with 2012 and up with 3.6 motor is the motor mounts. 9 times out of ten,the front,rear,and transmission mount will have to be replaced due to stress of police use and design of mount.

In your trunk somewhere, there's a fairly large decal (roughly the size of an index card) with a bunch of 3 digit codes on it. If you see 9C1 or 9C3 in that group of 3 digit codes - it's a legit police package. Maybe I'll do a quick video on it later today.

Not as much as they use to... but we have a Sheriff's department with an aggressive fleet replacement program. This and Crown Vics look "OLD" - are usually ragged out, and are not in use in my area anymore. Our local Sheriff's office has a 2-3 year replacement program... they are selling their 2021 and 2022 Tahoes with like 30-40K miles on them... for big money - most sell for around $35,000 at auction.

Good video! I’ve got a 2013 Impala Fleet. I love the car. The only thing i don’t like is the shifter in the center. I’d rather have it on the steering column. I’m a firefighter in NJ and so I have a radio and lighting. I had to get creative to fit everything lol!

I do like the column shifter, it's nice to have the space in the middle. The center shifter doesn't leave for anything - if you need to install equipment. I bet you had to do some very creative integration.

I’m buying one today, it’s got 136,000 miles on it, no oil leaks, cold ac, push bar, spot lights, it idles smooth, 3900 v6, plastic rear seat, rear door panel delete, it’s a ex Phoenix police car, I’m going to put new tires on it, do some body work my self, rubber floor. It’s white and it looks decent, but I’m going get maco paint job, it has the upgraded audio control steering wheel! I’m paying 1800 dollars for it! It seems solid I hope it’s a better car than a regular impala it’s a 2008 model! Give me your opinion!

Must be the primer then or surface prep after priming, as the primer looks just fine. Only one area is peeling on the roof. The primer is semi shiny. I’ve always been told to scuff it up a little to give it “teeth” for better adhesion...

I have 2006 3.9L , I took my car to do a battery test and they said there is a battery drain somewhere in the vehicle. Im thinking its probably some of the older police equipment that hasn't been taken off entirely.

Get a 2012 or newer. The 6 speed auto is much better than the 4t65 4 speed auto in previous impalas and the 3.6l motor is so much faster(300 hp),yet gets awsome gas milage. I have had many and l can tell you without hesitation they are far,far superior.

Brand new, it's not really easy. Typically they only sell new ones to fleet buyers, other dealers, or emergency services. Once the car is "used" they are sold to anyone who is willing to buy it. There are dealers like @CrownRickAuto and others that specialize in former law enforcement vehicles.

The silver sticker is on the right side of the trunk floor about a foot forward of the trunk opening. Im assuming they put it on the sheet metal rather than the cover for longevity. There are a few other interesting codes F71- final drive 2.44, JA9- brakes heavy weight (compared to what Im still trying to find out) JL9 - 4 wheel disc brakes, KD1 - trans cooler, MH2 - trans auto 6spd HMD 6T70, MX0 - Overdrive, The suspension code is 7B3 - "Special handling suspension". I have no info on the specifics but a rear wheel bearing replacement cost me double what I was expecting to pay so def not run of the mill suspension and brake parts.

I don't use Armor All on the floor, because it seems to make things slippery. I just vacuum out the dirt, and wipe it down with a disinfectant wipe if it has a stain on it.

Glad to see that your paint is sticking. I know the hood and roof of my CVPI have been repainted - quite badly. One of these days I hope to get a really decent quality paint job on that car. I've driven 2000-03 Impala 9C1's - I always got a kick out of the Surveillance Mode switch on the left side.

The Chevy impala is a good car I have a 2012 with 59,000 original miles on it now my paint is bad I had to have it painted I live in West Virginia Prefer the Crown Vic over the Chevy impala but it is a good car the Dodge Chargers are junk Especially with the hemi in it they don’t hold up good
