Using Microsoft Flight Simulator, the basics of a DME arc are covered along with descriptions and how to fly a DME arc. After the DME arc is intercepted in the TBM 930, the arc is flown until the lead radial where the localizer is intercepted and the ILS is flown.
TIP: To determine when to turn on to the arc, use 1 nm lead per 100 knots of speed. So, 150=1.5NM. 1.5 miles from the arc, start the turn to intercept the arc.

2NC0 - Mountain Aire, a great Mountain top airport, near the highest peak in the Appalachian Mts. and 6S9 - Stehekin State, in WA state. exactly the opposite. Dirt strip in the valley and the north edge of Lake Chelan.

Being as the arc was in your flight plan on the MFD, couldn’t you have just left the AP in Nav?

Yes but the intent of the video was to show how to do a DME arc manually. Otherwise, select the fix where the arc begins and leave the AP in NAV. In the real-world, I'll let the AP and FMS do the arc all day long.

Looks like you have the first position of flaps already at the start of this tutorial. When would you normally start extending the flaps in the TBM 930?

They were put down by default but it wasn't hurting anything so I left them down. As long as you're slowed to approach speed and full configured at or prior to the FAF you can add them whenever. Normally, a downwind or base leg when being vectored on an approach is a good time to start slowing down and adding T/O flaps.

Got it, thanks! In the 737 and if I remember it correctly, you have the 3-2-1 rule. Meaning you want to be at 3000 ft, doing 200 knots with flaps 1 selected no later than when reaching the FAF

Hi, is it possible to use VNAV (around 11') for the step descent till you capture de Glide ?

Absolutely, if the airplane has working VNAV. The source would need to be changed over to the approach type (VOR, ILS, etc.) prior to the final approach fix but you can use VNAV up to the FAF as I do in this VNAV video on an ILS approach: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6aWZ5eca5Zna8k The approach starts around 10:55.
