From the tourist hotspots of Burford, Stow on the Wold and Winchcombe, as well as the smaller villages of Broadway and Chipping Campden, the darker depths of the region include stories of whaling ghouls and demonic chariots, as well as mystical neolithic stones and witchcraft.

Please correct me if I am incorrect. Aren't the Cotswolds located within the Lake District? I've been told by multiple friends In Great Britain ( I have a few old school friends In England, as well a couple more old school friends In Scotland) they still gather there annually to spend a weekend hiking the trails and catching up. They tell me it's stunning, and should I ever become able to join in to literally pack multiple types, and apparel of multiple warmth. I've been told it can be sunny and glorious one moment, then moments later the rain will fall so heavily one may need to wear Wellies, until in a few minutes it will likely change again. Simply put the weather can and will change on a dime.

@Robert Diamond I'd had a preference for strolling in a cemetary in the evening or _very_ late at night.. more fun, all the night birds are out, and if I remember my little flashlight, I like reading the names of the "occupants", dates of birth & death, the fond words of their loved ones, & the epitaphs - some solemn & some witty - and on the older headstones, what caused the occupant's demise (falling off their horse, illness, etc). The older the grave is, the more time I spend reading about their life. They had lived & loved, sang & danced.. then the left this world behind, as all of us will someday. I feel they should be "seen" instead of forgotten.

29:41 I can’t believe you didn’t mention the song! The Mistletoe Bough The mistletoe hung in the castle hall, The holly branch shone on the old oak wall; And the baron's retainers were blithe and gay, And keeping their Christmas holiday. The baron beheld with a father's pride His beautiful child, young Lovell's bride; While she with her bright eyes seemed to be The star of the goodly company. Oh, the mistletoe bough. Oh, the mistletoe bough. "I'm weary of dancing now," she cried; "Here, tarry a moment - I'll hide, I'll hide! And, Lovell, be sure thou'rt first to trace The clew to my secret lurking-place." Away she ran - and her friends began Each tower to search, and each nook to scan; And young Lovell cried, "O, where dost thou hide? I'm lonesome without thee, my own dear bride." Oh, the mistletoe bough. Oh, the mistletoe bough. They sought her that night, and they sought her next day, And they sought her in vain while a week passed away; In the highest, the lowest, the loneliest spot, Young Lovell sought wildly - but found her not. And years flew by, and their grief at last Was told as a sorrowful tale long past; And when Lovell appeared the children cried, "See! the old man weeps for his fairy bride." Oh, the mistletoe bough. Oh, the mistletoe bough. At length an oak chest, that had long lain hid, Was found in the castle - they raised the lid, And a skeleton form lay mouldering there In the bridal wreath of that lady fair! O, sad was her fate! - in sportive jest She hid from her lord in the old oak chest. It closed with a spring! - and, dreadful doom, The bride lay clasped in her living tomb! Oh, the mistletoe bough. Oh, the mistletoe bough. (There are other versions of the lyrics)

Loved this! You actually just read these? I thought it was last year or before. I love Halloween!? Looking forward to more from you. Btw I want your doggy! Really. My shih tzu just passed after 15yrs together. Also our pitbull got sick and we had to say goodbye to him too. He was 12. And we lost our 10yr old jackrat in 2018. They are so much a part of your family it's devastating when their time comes. Is that a little terrier? Westie? He is so adorable! So obviously happy and tail wagging joyful! He obviously adores you. I've adopted one little girl. Chihuahua/Greyhound cross. Boy oh boy is she a character. Really wanting another tiny doggy to be our companion. And another pitbull for my fam upstairs. We love animals but I am really obsessed with dogs! And giraffes haha. Can't have one of those so.. 😔😉🐾 I so enjoy watching things from the UK and Ireland. Especially when there are many full shots of the lovely green countryside and the fabulous streets and buildings. I wish I could go there. My daughter and granddaughter love ghost stories. Please do more ghost stories. Your voice is perfect for telling them. You've got me thinking I should visit the Cotswolds, if only to hopefully catch a glimpse of one of its many ghosts.

What do you think of the stories of the blonde or ginger haired natives who are supposedly descended from peoples that were there before the Maoris?

Here's a good storyline for a ghost story. *We arrived at the Marsden hall just as night was falling. It looked deserted. But then I noticed a thin trail of smoke rising up out of the chimney. Suddenly, a curtain twitch in one of the upper rooms, and our suspicion that we we're being watched was confirmed.*

I do however have one story to share that I will NEVER forget. I was young and my teen sister and her friend were playing around with a QUIJA board. A spirit picked up named "Cuso". He said he was indian and that our newer community had been built over an Indian burial ground. I didn't believe and although scared I took to the board, and I swear that thing started moving erratically all over the board and it said didn't like me. The last chilling or intriguing thing he said to look at the stained wooden closet doors. He said he was watching us through it. We all looked all over the door and there in the woodgrain, there were two knotholes side by side, and a irregular knot that looked like a mouth. We immediately never used the board again!

Pretty sure a spirit of a Native American would not have referred to himself as an Indian? Most likely a demon who has never walked the earth and trying to attach itself to your sister, her friend or you. Good that y'all stopped using the board.

@@rickyc8626 Thanks for the reply. I'm sure you are right. The Indian burial ground story has come up a lot (in movies). But, I know it was evil. Amazingly and quite fortunately after that for 30 years in the home, no problems arises. Thank God! Take Care!
