Video Information: “How I find energy to what I love when I’m tired” +plus a personal and house update!
In this video I wanted to chat about expectations related to “being productive” - how we shouldn’t shame ourselves for ‘not getting things done’ after a long work day or when we are going through challenging times. I also wanted to share some techniques that have helped me change my lifestyle a bit and pull away from habitual distractions in order to pursue some of my personal hobbies and passions. Maybe these ideas will help, and maybe they wont! We are each trying to figure things out in the midst of stress and burnout. It’s a personal journey, and I hope at least I can encourage you today and give you some peaceful moments.

At about 8:45 onwards I share a personal update, update on some renovations, reading update, and my own experience with severe burnout and fatigue last year working three jobs at the same time, and how I tried to keep finding ways to do things that bring me joy even though usually I was just too exhausted to do much after work. It was important to honor how I felt during that time, and I hope that everyone that is too tired to get much done sometimes can give themselves the rest and relaxation they need and not be hard on themselves❤ sending a big hug

Thank you, Paola! I really needed this. I have a chronic illness which makes it extra difficult to find the motivation to do something for myself after a long day at work. But life has a tendency to start to feel empty when we don’t make the effort. Glad you’re starting to feel better!

Ever since I discovered this channel, it made me realize that I do not want the fast paced, high fashion life that I always thought I wanted, at the end of the day, I just wanted peace. I just also wanted my own little home in a place where I'm surrounded by nature, books and animals. Idk if its just me who had this realization but if I'm not alone, I hope we will all one day achieve this peaceful environment we dream about someday.

I discovered your channel a few months ago after having received a cancer diagnosis. I can't tell you how soothing and wonderful your videos have been for me. I don't know why the KZbin algorithm suddenly recommended your channel to me, but I'm very grateful it did. Most people don't seem to understand how important it is to not take youth and good health for granted until it's too late, so I'm very glad you're doing your best to make the most of your time. I wish you, your family, and your pup much health, happiness, and success. Thank you for the respite you provide. *I'm not surprised such a welcoming channel has so many kindhearted viewers. I found that having a list of things to do (or at least a mental list) was tiring or stressful when not completed. Then, I changed my mind set and looked at it a different way. I decided a list of things to accomplish gives me many choices in my day. I can pick and chose from it what I feel like doing or what I have the energy to do each day. It gave me a sense of freedom and I felt that eventually most of the items on the list could be accomplished given time.

I picked up a bit of everything, cleaning out my shelves of unread books, and managed to get through 70 books - and large ones too like War & Peace, LOTRs, a couple of Harry Potter books, the Hitchhikers Guide to the Universe series, etc. what a surprise that year was! Same here...retired teacher, 67 and living alone in a small farm and tiny house with my cats a dog, 19 chickens and lots of hardwood and fruit trees around. My place is located at the foothills of a mountain range and I have a nice view of the sunrise and sunset. Like you, I also suffer from chronic pain and fatigue due to cervical spondylosis but I try to be productive on a daily basis working the land and slowly develop my place into a permaculture garden. At times I feel like progress is slow so I set to do my daily task as planned. But my diminished strenght won't allow me to accomplish my daily set tasks. I feel bad at times not finishing my daily projects, but I also realized I must be a little kinder to myself like having enough breaks in between tasks. And during bad days, I need to learn not to feel guilty if i really have to make more bedrest than what is really needed. But I guess your body would tell you exactly if you have recovered from overshooting which I often do. These videos always reminds me to be thankful that I can live the retirement life that I dreamed of since long ago. I just have to contend that I' m not as physically strong and agile as before having been a single mom for 30 years and raising four kids alone. I had three surgeries due to that stressful life I led. I survived cancer which was the third one. I realized I must be very grateful to have such a place that is so close to nature, fresh spring water, mountain air, abundant foliage and greeneries. Its providing me the peace and quiet that nourishes my spirit as well as physical health and well being. Inspiring video once again. Thanks.

I have to say that what you've said here is so very important. My whole life has been full speed ahead. School, college, children, work etc. I pushed my body to the point of collapse. Got incredibly sick, ended up on life support and then was diagnosed on top of all my mental health disorders with Hashimoto's, lymphoedema, and now Lupus. I'm making progress and trying to get some fitness back but it's going to be a slow slog. Some days I'm in so much pain i can't move, but it's not as often as it was pre diagnosis. So my point, ABSOLUTELY let your mind, body and spirit rest. Don't be ashamed of staying in bed for a weekend and if you have children make it like a campout. Sending love and healing energy to Aigire (sorry spelling)❤❤

It’s almost a funny coincidence that you shared a quote from L. M. Montgomery, as I have been slowly making my way through her Anne of Green Gables series since the Covid pandemic took off in 2020. It’s been an immensely comforting series and has really helped me to slow down and, through inspiration from Anne’s character, find new ways to appreciate what’s around me. I’ve always loved nature and the mildly rural setting in which I grew up and live in, but sometimes you need a reminder to look at it with renewed appreciation. “It's been my experience that you can nearly always enjoy things if you make up your mind firmly that you will.” ❤️

yess, i've been reading this series i believe since the end of 2021 and it gives the readers so much comfort, i also think is the kind of books that you just enjoy reading slowly and paciently and makes you want to be more light hearted, Paola's videos feel really close to what the AOGB series feel like.

Oh my God your valley is quite like I figure the paradise ! So beautifully touching...I like your frame with flowers, it gives me good ideas for when I will be in retirement soon...For the moment, I don t have the time to read, to do things I like, I feel too tired after work. Not easy to find time of rest without stress...I wish you will be able to take time for you now that the weather is warmer even if it rains sometimes. Hello from Paris, France❤

I know you can find energy within, as I have done at 65 yrs old. Once believed to be an age for falling apart. No Longer so. I believe that your daily activity of gardening, taking walks in the fields and breathing in the fresh morning air along with your earthly diet will almost certainly have given you a bountiful kick start to having higher energy levels later in life. As long as you feel good, you can rest assured that as you move through the different aspects of your life you will only get better. As the saying goes, "It or we only get better with age" Please enjoy !!

I know such daily efforts are not easy, and I truly think you are working incredibly hard. I think it would be good for you to take a break occasionally, but I think you keep finding things to do one after another. In this beautiful spring season, please savor happiness, try to set the pace a little slower if that allows and would make your body and mind easier. Thank you always, and please take care.

The countryside and flower meadows were simply stunning the kind here in Englad we usually only see in gardens but I have been enjoying the fields of buttercups and daisies around me . As an older person it saddens me to see young people rushing about and not taking time to enjoy the small things that can bring you such joy I love how you talk about the things that help you and try to help other people too. The pressed flower decorations were lovely something I haven't done for years but am now going to do again. Thank you xxx

I just wanted to say that I love your videos. They are so beautiful and peaceful. I just LOVED the shots of you walking through the flowers and the stormy looking sky. I had a really rough 2 weeks at work, so I decided Saturday was going to be my mini holiday. I spent the whole day by the river. I followed a trail that goes by the river, and then loops around by a pretty little creek. It's a beautiful wetlands area. I walked about 2 hours, and found a secluded bench to sit on right in front of the creek, completely shaded by trees, and read my book. It was a perfect day. I love spending time out in nature, but don't do it often enough.

Bianca is adorable too! Sending prayers for your doggie. I laughed out loud when you said your cat was loving the chaos. I have four cats, but one who thrives in chaos as well. The pressed flower frames were lovely. My flowers never retained as much color as yours have. Thanks for the video, I enjoyed it!

What an encouraging and lovely video🥰! You constantly inspire me to do what makes ME happy and to treasure every moment that God gives me in my journey. It’s been raining softly all day here in the mountains. As I write this thunder is talking to me and challenging me to look out my window to view any new updates. I had two little families of birds build their nests in my front door wreath this spring. The babies left yesterday. They waited until the last minute because they were in such a cozy safe place. 🪺❣️ My husband and I will celebrate our 55th Wedding Anniversary on June 3rd. We sit on our back porch and enjoy the Bluebirds , Swallows, Doves,Cardinals and Sparrows chatter and chase each other about. The Swallows are raising a family as I speak and the Bluebirds have already raised a family. It’s been a busy Spring! I have planted my flower seeds and am enjoying them pop through the soil to grow and put on their coats of many colors. At the age of 75 I am so happy to be in such a beautiful peaceful home in Tennessee right along side of my special fellow. 🥰We are so blessed. We are forever grateful. Love, Nancy

Hi, I read your comment and just wanted to say I'm so sorry about your dad passing. ❤ My situation is very different but not knowing who you are does sound very familiar. For me it helped to look back at my youth, what I enjoyed doing then and what that could look like for me as an adult. For instance I used to love playing in our backyard as a kid, now I enjoy walking in nature and tending to my flowers. Hope you have a good day today!

Thank you for beautiful videos and inspirational bits of wisdom, Paola. In my job as mental health therapist I was trained by a wonderful professional father and his crew to observe the role of the symptoms rather than getting stuck in the behaviors of people. It has been longer than a decade and that wisdom manifests as true and guides me each day. When you mention "why" vs "what", I resonated immediately. Plus, this modern fast -paced society is not at all created to serve human wellness and family, I do come from a completely different culture which I totally love and appreciate. So, I was clicking with your emphasis on how we have to do it for our own sake: self-care, self-preservation, slowing down and crafts. Yes, crafts are scientifically proven to improve emotional and mental well being, plus our Bulgarian Orthodox Christian Fathers have consistently encouraged people to engage in handiwork crafts. Ancient elders' question is priceless. Thank you as always for your video content.
