BTS @ 7:56. I’m officially a quarter of a century! Hoping for several more ☺️ I thought I’d share a bit about my former lifestyle, and how being true to myself helped me make peace with my personality and embrace a new rhythm. My life has changed so much since I was 18. I’m starting to divide my videos up, adding a more casual conversation section at the end of each, let me know what you think!!! The liquid recipe I made is Orange Jelly 🤍 links in description

I will be 55 next week and I am watching, glad to know I am not thee only woman who does not take kindly to driving in the winter. I am just so nervous , I live in Northern Ont. gets dark at 4:30 pm going into winter , another reason I am more comfortable near home. I had a job for six years just across the hwy and down another back road , it was a good job and close to home. Unfortunately having a Brain Tumor got me fired and so I have been staying house bound and taking a college course and actually just wrote my final exam. My goal was to write my final exam before my 55th birthday so I have at least reached that goal. I know getting used to the cold, the snow and harsh conditions are not easy and even compounded when you move to a new location and do not know anyone

In response to your question to viewers regarding your new video breakdown: I really enjoy how you are currently breaking down your videos with a more cinematic experience in the beginning and the talking portion at the end. At 25 I was at my high point in life. Trying so hard to be the perfect wife the perfect student and the perfect carrier woman. I paid attention to what everyone around me I admired said I should do, that I lost myself. Being a people pleaser is like leaving a kettle running and forgetting all about it. Trying to acquire the highest wealth while being a housewife was all too much before I snapped and everything came crashing down. 😔It took a long time to come to terms with myself and get back to my personal relationship with God. Now that I'm 36, I spend more time reminding myself of the person I am and not care about what phase in life people think I should be in. I know myself more am closer to my values and a lot less stressed and no longer needing medication to live my best life. I would tell anyone younger now to just be you and don't live by other people's expectations no matter how well they mean. 🤗HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU FAIRY LADY.

Socks! I love getting socks! Looking back to when I was 25 I was still quite a child. While I had just gotten married, I was very much looking at marriage and life with an unrealistic romantic mindset. I had lost my mom two years before and I think I was looking for something to replace the secure feeling I lost when she died. Although the marriage lasted 29 years I don’t feel I truly grew up until I reached the 1/2-century mark. Life is such an interesting journey. Thank you for sharing little snippets of yours.

Wow I really needed this video. I’ve watched a few in a row now and I feel each one is telling me what I need to know. I’m 38 years old and I feel so behind in pursuing my dreams. I’ve followed you for awhile now and I compare myself to you (I’m human). I always thought that you have always lived this way and it felt difficult for me to achieve. I also pushed myself to live a different life.. clubs, drinking, being overly social. It was the opposite of who I was and still am. I always wished I was home reading a book but I pushed myself to do what everyone else was doing to belong. This video gave me a realization - I can achieve a simple life, a quiet life, away from the city. It is not wrong to want to be alone or near a few special people and to desire slowness, quiet, solitude. I will get there!

I totally agree regarding your compassion for the trees. It actually saddens me to see trees being cut down for people to enjoy for a few weeks, then throwing them away not considering the years it took for them to grow. After reading The Overstory, it really made me think about trees in a whole different light! I won't ever look at trees again. I highly recommend the book.

Happy belated birthday Paola 🎂🎉 I can 100% relate to everything you said today and I am so grateful to grow into the person I am now 🥰 It's been a long process and there's still a plenty of room for improvement but I think it's a blessing for people to learn their worth and to be happy with who they are ❤️ And I LOVE practical presents 😁😁 Have a lovely day 💖

I've said it before, you are truely wise beyond your years Paola. Having experienced my own "not fitting into the norm" and then accepting that I don't have to be like others, and we are all equal, I'm finally living a life happy in. Things can always be better and I will always improve and learn, but that's the beauty and excitement of life. Much love Liana xx

Happy belated birthday, lovely lady. It is amazing how much the world has changed in my 65 years. One of my grandfathers lived to be 100 years old, as well one of my grandmothers was 100 years old when she passed around the year 2000, and she lived through Castro's evil rise to power, lost a son to his firing squads (my father, long story). Just imagine how the world changed during their sojourn on earth. I must decide how I want to spend the time I have left on this earth and it's a more difficult decision in the vastly changed landscape of our society now. I know this much- I want peace and solitude. That is why I am drawn to your videos, though at your age, you could be my granddaughter. I appreciate the effort that goes into making them, so thank you. ~Cynthia, North Georgia mountains

I understand about the socks! Mine have become quite old, dirty and worn out. I've not been going into town since the pandemic started because there are just too many people around and having a medical condition means I have to be careful about crowded spaces right now. They were all pre-pandemic and were old before it started. I usually buy some when I'm out and about but not being able to go has meant I've been stuck with them. I managed to get some new ones, though. One of the things I do for winter is to try and stock up on pantry food that lasts a long time, too. You can never be sure when an illness is going to hit so having things that are easy to cook when you can't go out is a good thing. It's been hard this past two - three winters because of what's going on in the world and the pandemic has made it challenging no matter where you live.

Can I offer some feedback? This feels like 2 separate videos. The beginning put me into a very calm, focused and zen state watching and listening. I wanted this to either continue or end. It was difficult to focus on you talking because I found myself wanting to stay feeling the same way I felt earlier in the video. The visuals, music and your quiet narration are a meditation for me. But when you start talking later I find myself tuning out. If it was a separate video I would really enjoy that more. You are incredibly special and talented, and I hope my words are helpful not critical. I am recovering from a serious and severe illness. I used to run, walk, bike and hike every day. But eight years ago an illness put me in a wheelchair. After trying many things, I have now found the way back to health. Progress is very slow, but it’s happening. Today I can walk half a mile. You have been accompanying me on my journey. I’m so grateful for what you’re putting out here, you have no idea. You’ve shared so many things that resonate deeply with me. I’ve had some very similar experiences. If I had resolved them in my 20s instead of shoving them back down inside me and trying to force myself to get on with life, I don’t think I would’ve become so ill. I didn’t know any better. You are wise.

Oh to be a quarter of a century old again! If I had it to do it all over again I would definitely concentrate on and enjoy my creative side. I think it's so important. I have become more aware of that in my latter years and I'm enjoying it but I urge the youth to really appreciate nature and celebrate it, protect and honor it. You know so much and your life is just beginning. 🌾🌿🌱🍂🍃🍁

I’d love to know what you did your pasta. Maybe it was too pretty to cook! Reading the comments is one of my favorite times. How amazing that you have at such a young age found your happiness ..so many of us in our middle years ..are now finding that it's living the very simple life now that our families have grown ..relationships have passed on. That living a simple life alone. Is all that we now desire. What you have now is a very very rare treasure in this dark world. There is a way to live a higher level if existence.

The home made pasta looks amazing! I agree it's harder to be motivated to cook for yourself. Sometimes I'll spend a Sunday cooking something that will last for a few meals and it's really helpful, but I don't do it regularly. Sorry your furbaby got your jacket. My dogs have done similar and always the cause was a forgotten treat! Happy Belated Birthday sweetie!
