I was there 23 yrs ago backpacking with friends...the adventure of my life! So many fun amazing memories! I met my boo on this adventure and we're still together...we found each other...I found my soulmate. Now 23 yrs forward, living in Cali, raised 2 beautiful girls, lived in Italy at the beginning but came back to the US for citizenship and legal reasons...so much has happened but can't wait to begin traveling again or just retiring and live a simple life...when our young one is ready to fly on her own, I hope we can go and spread our wings again, go wherever the wind takes us...life is too short...nature is healing...there's so much more to life than the 5 to 9 grind...I love that you guys are living it up! You don't need a lot of money to have amazing experiences and meet wonderful people...if you are good and mean well...destiny will take care of you...i hope our paths cross one day...wish you all the best and may it last forever!!!

Words of the wise Don't go the place sucks ass and smells terrible. The sea water is clean and beautiful, but locals are always looking for was to screw you out of money by telling you this is the price and when it comes time to pay the add fees and taxes that don't exist and it's actually an illegal practice but everyone does it anyway.

Rented a sweet Air B&B, had a golf cart the whole time, we hit Captain Dulches, Soggy Peso, Mango Cafe, Mama Rosa's, had marquesitas with cheese & Nutella, bought a six pack at Isla Brewing, sunset at North Beach but Not enough time for every thing we wanted to do, so we're going back baby! We went straight across the street to rent a golf cart like you suggested and headed south. We made it to Garrafon de Castilla but didn’t see anything else because we never left that place. What a hidden gem! We got there early like you suggested and got a spot right on the beach. Incredible snorkeling with beautiful waters and hundreds of fish. And for that price?!! Great tip!! Nice videography. The golf cart rental, is there a specific vender name that was the best price across from the ferry entrance? Planning on a golf cart but not sure for how long, staying 2 days, can we walk to playa Norte from the ferry? Where did you guys stay? What were the names of places to eat that you liked in north playa / hildago street area ? And what did you order? Mosquito s? Or bites from? Thanks

We got our golf cart rental through our Airbnb but there are a few right across from the ferry I would just pop into them and compare prices, I think the prices are pretty much the same across the board. Oh yes, you ca reach Playa Norte in 5 minutes from the ferry. We stayed at Casa Malu on Airbnb it was a fantastic location - in town but away from all the noise. We ate at la lomita which was fantastic, local spot get the enchiladas suizas with shrimp so delicious! Had street tortas for lunch most days. Ate at the soggy peso. El patio is a great place too - live music and great food on Avenida Hidalgo! We didn’t notice any mosquitos! But bring bug spray just in case. Thanks for all the questions, and for watching!

Seven of us from the University of Colorado drove from Boulder to McAllen, Texas - a journey that began my love affair with Mexico. From McAllen we crossed into Mexico where we caught a plane to Merida and made our way to a true island paradise. In 1968, encouraged by an article in National Geographic, we spent Spring Break on Isla de Mujeres. Back then the island was untouched by developers. Rustic would be the most accurate word to describe Isla de Mujeres back then. The island’s surrounding waters were a national park - perfect for the scuba diving adventure of a lifetime. I enjoyed The Country Collectors video but I probably won’t be returning to Isla de Mujeres. It has disappeared but my memories of it have not.

Once when I was working as a photog with the Tribune newspapers in Phoenix I left 15 thousand dollars worth of equipment in the trunk of my car and it was parked on the street and the worst part is I had opened the trunk and forgotten. Thank you so much for watching! We went snorkeling at Castilla de Garrafon it is in the south of the island near Punta Sur. Check out the google map I made in the description for the location. I think you can eat everywhere with kids except at the Soggy peso! 😃 Have such a wonderful time there!
