They pull of the best live versions of their songs. I love your guy's set, colors, lights, and zles Pauls on the wall. Great reaction. Pivk Floyd definitely connects, almost on a soul level. The song is , to me, the human experience. Who of us doesn't long for the beaty , wond, and simplicity of child wonder surrounded by friends, lost is each moment until one day we grow up and get caught up in the rat race. I'm 64 now, and thought I live a great life, the eyes with which I see my world are different from the eyes of the child I once was. Melancholy is spot on. No one on their deathbed wishes they'd spent more time at the office or that they'd made more money. Why wait 'till our deathbed, when there's no time left, to mourn the changes we could have made, but chose not to? It reminds me of the question, how would you live your life if you knew you had only 6 months left to live life. Do that.

So glad that you are enjoying Pink Floyd. I am 70 years old and have been a fan of this band form the very early stages. Pulse Concert is the best concert I have ever been. If you want spectacle then stick to Pulse for the moment. The Great Gig In The Sky is a must see because it is pure emotion without the use of words. Listen to their studio albums by any means but be sure to be in a relaxed place and listen to their albums in full, not single tracks, because they all have a story to tell.

I have to say to Carol, for a young 21st century woman, you have great depth to your insight and understanding of this song. I watched your beautiful smile fade and you almost looked like you were going to cry a couple of times, as you totally understood the full meaning of this amazing piece. I also agree with you……this is Pink Floyd’s best song. All the other from this concert are all priceless, but this one reaches into your soul and brings emotions you only know as memories. The other song PF does that is on the same level as this one is,” On the Turning Away “……you must listen to it also, from the live concert in the USA around 1989 I believe. These two songs bring tears to my eyes quite often. Cheers from Canada🎉👍🎸🎶😎🇨🇦

This is such a great song. It's my favorite by them. I did my Art finals on this song. I created a huge painting of what it meant to me. I was... having a lot of fun experimenting at that time in my life. This song kind of woke me up to the dangers of the path I was headed down and if that was something I really wanted. My teacher and this band were the father figure I never had. They honestly saved me from a really dark path. Glad you guys liked the song. Thanks for the reaction. Keep up the great work.

10:51- the reason it "hits you harder" that "Comfortably Numb" is that the visual pictures they activate in your heart & mind thru the lyrics, take you back to that time they describe & I find 2 things happen: I stand in the "place of a child" & later "in the place of an adult" & it's the juncture of the realization that "both of you" (adult & child) are standing in that point in time.....when he starts with slide solo...your "personal moment" happens. You guys are awesome. A beautiful couple! Thanks for posting!

As I mentioned in the comments of the comfortably numb reaction, High Hopes should be your next because I knew what the impact would be to her when David started playing the steel guitar and she was basically enjoying it, but when David started playing the steel guitar, her entire facial expression completely changed She was stunned. I knew she would be. I’m not one to rewatch reactions that I’ve already seen but this one I will definitely watch many many more times I knew what was going to happen and it did and I also agree comfortably numb is a great song, but High Hopes has an emotional grab on you, she was one step away from tears. Respectfully, the next one should be from the same concert. The song is called. Sorrow. You have just begun down this rabbit hole and I will patiently be waiting for the next one. There are several other performances that he plays the steel guitar in as well.

Carol, you are exactly correct on the meaning of the song and the difference between this and Comfortably Numb. Comfortably Numb is a very personal experience by one person which may not be relatable to everyone. Lyrically.High Hopes is more universally relatable. We all go through these experiences in our life, the hopes and dreams of our youth and the regrets we face in our later years of what we may have missed or what life has become. I saw them twice on this tour and I was in my late 20's. I loved the song and understood its meaning, but now in my late 50's the song has a much deeper meaning. Great reaction!! Looking for another Pink Floyd song...just pick anything from that concert, you cannot go wrong.

I agree, this is one of my favourite Pink Floyd songs, this, Echoes and Shine On You Crazy Diamond parts I-V are my favourites, but where there are great live versions of the first 2, the studio version is by far the best with Shine on You Crazy Diamond. And yes, it is about the passage of time and mourning the loss of childhood innocence, and again spot on about the solo on the Fender Lap Steel guitar packed full of meaning and emotion.
