I’ve watched a few of your videos. Note to self, make sure you’re not drinking coffee (or anything else for that matter) while watching The Coyote Lab videos. 😂😂 I love your sense of humor. You’re doing an awesome job on this build. Thank you for sharing.

in high wind areas, you need far more strength for the rafter ties. Hurricane Ian snapped right through those type ties

Really enjoyed this video. Your humor cracks me up. I am building a shipping container with a cabin/treehouse on top! And YouTubing it vlog style. Having a great time. From TX now in Northern Idaho. Just subscribed. We give shout outs in our lives I will be doing that with this video and adding a link on my community page to your channel. Good job!

What did you do to structurally support all this since containers are not designed to take any load on the roof or walls?
@thecoyotelab2 жыл бұрын
The load is around the permitter of the container and no weight directly on the roof. The building is also not real heavy. Will it work?? Who knows! Stay tuned haha.

Why not just stack a container for the 2nd floor space?

What size second story cabin mate Wide , Long And tall ?
@thecoyotelab2 жыл бұрын
It follows half the foot print of the shipping container so it’s 8feetx10 feet. I was going for 8 feet tall to match the container height but ended up making it just a bit higher.

Screws are bad for building they have no shear strength For the sheeting rough side out I build houses for a living
@thecoyotelab2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Abe. Would have preferred nails and normally would use. Take care and thanks for stopping by.
@chriscook2502 жыл бұрын
I do slick side out for walls because spray insulation sticks better to the rough side. Slick side down for roof because the rough side is easier to walk on especially when there’s saw dust on it.

Why not just put a 10 dt container on top of the 20 ft container. A used one is only 1000 dollars
