Great tips. I enjoy your videos. Thanks! I like that with all my hobbies I'm staying mostly organized. Frequently I also alphabetize because that's how my brain thinks. My husband is also an artist/crafter and he sometimes goes 'shopping' in my 'mostly' organized studio/warehouse. (I had to bring a gazillion supplies to my home studio when my remote studio was closed due to the building I rented in being sold). I LOVE that whenever hubby asks 'do you have' x-y-z' I can say 'Yes, it's in the craft studio in this location, to the left/right of the table, etc'. Or 'it's in the jewelry studio near the right/left window'. I don't have to interrupt what I'm working on to get something for him. Also, I label everything, which I think is key when folks share supplies. The best part about sharing my supplies is that when I need something from his workshop or something made, he's willing to get it for me or make it for me. WE don't have to run out and buy something - which saves time and money. But I DO want to learn how to use his POWER TOOLS! :-). P.S. He's finally become a believer - like me - that duct tape has a thousand uses. We always say 'try some duct tape on it'!

I also have numerous boxes broke down to use for templates. I been using the same chinese food storage box for 20 plus years. I used it long before they has die cuts for them LOL. I got chinese one time and they accidently put two boxes together. I almost threw it away, but am SOOO glad years later I saved it. I have used it for candies, chocolates, fudge and numerous food goodies for birthdays and Christmas throughout the years. Decorated for each occasion no one was the wiser where I got the box :)

I am so glad I found you! Usually, in videos about organizing, they tell you that if you have not used something for a year, you should not keep it.... But, crafts are a thing of muse and inspiration and even though you haven’t done something for a while, it does not mean that you are not going to. Besides, a lot of times, I find, among my collections, solutions to unrelated issues. So, thank you for saying that you keep everything! You make me feel I am not alone!

I purchase the materials in good faith to make things & there it sits because i don't even have room on my table to see the table. And then i forget i have stuff because i can't find it & go out to purchase more of the same! Your ideas are awesome. Thank you for sharing your ideas.

Start big. Just get all of the paper stock you can find into ONE PLACE. I mean, look for it in bags, drawers, closets, pull it all out and get it together. Then you can start organizing it by size, color, etc.... AND you can purge knowing what all you have. Then you will know how much space you need to store whats left. Then... move on to the beads and do the same thing. Use small baggies to hold the colors/sizes. They are super inexpensive and you can keep the bags in a larger box. Please let me know if you get stuck. I'm here to help. :)

so sorry that was so traumatic I'm assuming "that book" is the Marie Kondo one, I have friends that felt that way too, though for one is was mainly about clothes and shoes and I agree, crafting is very personal, we buy the things that call to us in the moment, and may well forget what we had planned for them, that's why I got in the habit of making a quick card sketch and keeping it with the stamps or dies or saving the video that introduced me to them

I too like to alphabetize or Roy G. Biv if working with colors. That’s the teacher in me. I store my scrapbook paper scraps in plastic drawers by color. I also store my embellishments this way: ribbon, brads, washi tape, etc. I store other less used items by material. All metal craft objects, wooden items, yarn, glass, etc. each have their own bins. I can easily find things that way. I’m constantly changing up my organizational ideas so I love watching others to get ideas!

Take it slow... my best advice is start with one type of thing...... then search for all of it! If it's yarn... gather every bit of yarn you can find. Sort and purge that and then go on to the next item type. You can't know where to store things or the container sizes until you really know what you have. It may seem overwhelming - but this will all click into place and leave you more organized then you could have ever imagined. 💛

Just found your site. Great ideas. I'll soon be moving into a new home and plan to put some of your ideas into practice. ~ Just a little tip: when using Zip Bags for storage, if you trim a diagonal 1/4 inch off the bottom corners, you don't have to worry about the "puffy air bags". I don't use this for small/tiny items, but it works great with larger items that won't fall through..

As for my Cricut vinyl scraps, I bought a 12x12 photo album from Savers for $2 and slide my scraps inside the see-thru pocket sleeves (where you typically would put your photos). Just found your channel but it's perfect timing! I love the way you are using the magazine holders for not-even-magazine-shaped things. Also, genius to put a file folder in the ziploc to keep those bags in order. That would also protect any instructions or notes to myself (like, what the heck project was THIS?) from getting munched up in the box.

Oh yes, I've kept a few boxes from things to use in other projects too. I have a "projects in progress" box that is a mess!

It's Holiday Gift making time... if I don't use the things I have THIS SEASON.... I'm going to let all (who am I kidding), most (yeah... try again), some (there we go) of it go! LOL I like having random things on hand. I might be an organizer in my brain... but I am a crafter at heart!!!

I loved the VERTICAL storage idea in a small plastic tote for easily seeing and accessing 12x12 or 8.5x11 paper. To dig through horizontal stacks is much harder, and I forget what's buried underneath. Thanks :)!

That is hilarious!! It’s my turn to organize and I’m thinking “wait do I need a container for Nubs, Norks and Paddywacks”. I need a day where I have Samantha Steven’s twinkly nose! Great videos and ideas!

I love your strategy for storing paper scraps. I have so much scrap paper I couldn't figure out what to do with it--now I have a plan! One of the most useful things I found for my craft supplies is a label maker. I have tried several styles but I find the Brother the best for me. it is like a mini typewriter--It is easy to use and although a bit pricey, I have found the investment was worth while. I ues it constantly.

I have the Brother label maker too. I actually wore out my first one!!! (Used it for all of my clients - so, used DAILY 4+ years) They are amazing!

Back in the day when we used lots of eyelets and brads I stored them in salt & pepper shakers. They work great for small things like that. I love that idea for glitter!

Love this segment. I never thought of putting the magazine rack with the solid side facing out! I also love how you put the scrapbook paper inside the scrapbook page covers and then inside a file box with the labels. Genius!

Those COOKIE SHEETS together are PERFECT for a half done PAINTING PROJECT on a small canvas. Itll keep all the stuff off it. BECAUSE EVERYTHING sticks to acrylic paint when its still wet or even not. Honestly it sort of makes me want to go out and get 2 of the largest cookie sheets I can find.

I liked a ton of your ideas. Some of them I have already previously incorporated but you have made them even simpler (I have used hanging file folders for my scrap paper etc.) I'm going to purge because I see I have a bunch of stuff I haven't looked at for a long while and you gave me permission to say goodbye. Truly, we crafter's are more alike than different. On a side note. I like your voice and how you present. I know we can't do anything about those physical qualities but you have a calm way about how you present. Thank you for the time you give up to help others (including myself).

I always love your videos! I really like the idea of using the folders inside of ziploc bags and the cookie sheets clipped together! Thank you! I wish you help me with my big multiple purpose room (half of which is supposed to be my craft room) but it is such a massive undertaking. You seem like you would be so easy to talk to. I’m living for the day that I can actually use the space.

I love your way of organizing your scraps in page protectors in a big bin. I am going to put that one into use shortly. I am in the middle of reorganizing and moving my crafts because I must baby proof because my greatt grandson is starting to crawl and lives here. It is fun to watch him❤️!

Thank you! I'm really hoping to tackle my craft\scrapbooking space this summer. I'm definitely a horder when it comes to this stuff and it is in desperate need of being organized. There are times that I put off projects because of the chaos! I also tend to buy items again because I didn't realize I still have some. I love to organize, yet sometimes I just get too overwhelmed. You gave me some great ideas to get me started.
