The secular crowd should see every religion as a threat if its becoming the state religion. That is why we say, the church must be separated from the state. Why this trend of only saying Islam is the biggest threat to secular credentials? In India, our constitution is facing the biggest threat from which religion? It is from Hindu RW because Hindus are in majority here. In the Indian context, Hindu Nationalism and fascism is the biggest threat than anything. Director is the captain of the ship 100%! But the general public mostly check in the following order when they planning for a movie......., who are the actors ( the male 1,2 then 3rd female ( rarely 2nd) and 4th position only the ordinary people check who’s the director! I’m not saying it should be that way, but that’s the reality 🤷‍♀️

While I understand what he is saying, cannot quite agree that writers are not conscious of the sensibility they are promoting and that is why they write sexist dialogues like the one he was mentioning. Writers and directors have to take responsibility for what they are writing. It is not that they don't know what is not politically correct, they write in sexist/homophobic/casteist jokes because that is considered normal. Change will happen only when the writers and directors take responsibility for what they create and don't glorify marginalizing a gender/community/sexual orientation. In this matter, I respect Parvathy. She doesn't come across as defensive, but more introspective. She also owns up to her mistakes, which other creative artists/directors do not do.
