Youre obviously new to this band. If you listen to their earlier material and do a slight deep dive into their history the lyrics will make more sense. The band name was chosen from psychology class and thought it was a funny name and hoped that it would stick in peoples memory. The Hippocampus is the part of your brain that handles memory.
