Old Cleetus is smart enough to have the guy (Steve) that built the motor come down and tune it up and he's smart enough to have the guy (Kevin) that built the car repair and tune the suspension also. This car is now considered a real contender for a shelf full of trophies. Can't wait to see this 2,000 horsepower big dog hunt ! I had a mild stroke when I saw Mullet do a wheel stand and then come back down to a shower of sparks! People don't realize how hard it is to race at this level. Good luck guys !

Can't wait to see Cleet's video where she decided to try and launch herself to the moon. Just proves something I've been saying since you took on this build, the attention to detail is just insane on this car. You built that front end knowing at some point it was going to end up having some hard impacts. The frame and skid plate area designed for the "Oh Chit" or "Just in case" moments worked exactly as you intended and saved the car from really hurting itself. This has to be one of the best built and designed "Drag and Drive" vehicles out there right now. Outstanding job as always Kevin and I wish y'all nothing but the best for this event. God Bless...

@geoffreyveale7715
@geoffreyveale7715 2 жыл бұрын
You can do it quicker (not as accurate) by eyeball. With wheel in center, look from the front across the edges of the front tires to a reference near the back tires. If the toe is way out you will see it immediately. Using some pieces of timber, a measurement tape, and some calculations you can get it quite accurate. It is especially easy using this method if front and rear track dimensions to the outside of the tires are identical.

Close the throttle, lose the boost, goes back to pump gas, try to get back into it to set her down but the transition isn't smoothed out so it choked trying to hop back into methanol and had literally no power to give. Holy crap!! Those grease plates are ingenious, Kevin!! Spending money on swivel plates (expensive) has been the main reason why I've never bought an alignment kit, so I can do my own alignments. Also, love your use of the fishing reels!

Why not weld some sacrificial pads on the bottom of the frame? Weld them on with some small legs that will bend when bottomed out, and weld them in a way that they can be removed and replaced easily.

I like this idea. I had also thought of thick nylon runners, like motorbike knee slider material, that would give just a little softer touchdown and would slide.

The wheelie sensor was designed to stop it ever pointing at the sky instead of the track, they just had it unplugged on the test run. It cuts timing when the front reaches a certain angle to the track.

You know I like Cletus's side of everything but its great to see the more serious side of everything. Your attention to detail is something that our world has lost and I'm glad you do your part to keep it going. The way you explain things make it very clear and even a dummy like me can understand. Thanks Kevin for everything you do and don't ever think the style of videos you produce are not worth the effort you put into them. I look forward to every video you produce. Be safe buddy.

Kevin, You are so polite. When I am setting up a Car and doing an Alignment, I don't care who it is, But if there are People around the car talking (especially when they are saying numbers) I tell them to go somewhere else. Because when setting up toe or camber/castor, i don't want any distractions. You have a lot of patience.

Let me just say this Kevin, you learned the right way and had good teachers. And if you learned this all by trial and error, you're one smart man. With our sprint cars and midgets, I listened to all the older guys.l paid attention and kept my mouth shut and learned. Now I'm 63. I'm trying to pass it down to the younger generation and they don't want to hear it. I enjoy watching your work Sir. Keep up the good work. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🏁🏁😎
