What a difference hanging out with Nick who was very patient and fantastic command of English. He would make a great content creator for sure.

If Doug have another chance to meet with Nick maybe another video collaboration about vietnam on other things.

Everyone I meet seems like they would be a better content creator than me. They all seem like they would have such interesting stories to tell. I keep encouraging everyone I meet to start a KZbin channel. I'd love it if Nick followed through on his ambition to become a motovlogger in Vietnam. However, as I've learned, the true mark of a content creator is someone who is willing to put in the countless hours involved in editing, exporting, and uploading the actual videos. THAT's the real life of a KZbinr, it seems. I'm not sure I would wish that on anyone... 🤪

CC Nick is fantastic! I am so envious of people that have such excellent pronunciation! I know many people who speak a second language but so few can pronounce the language properly. How did he learn to pronounce English so well?! I can learn the words but I can't speak the language! I speak but no one understands my Chinese without repeating several times before they finally understand. The first time, they don't expect a foreigner to speak their language, the second time though must be because my pronunciation is not good enough. In Japanese, the first time, they don't expect me to speak the language but usually after that they understand me but Japanese is so easy to pronounce; Vietnamese is incredibly difficult and English is even harder!!

I prefere this young Vietnamese English and accent even more than some of the so call Native English speakers who move about S. E. A. claiming all the world of English and paternrighting everything about it. Great job young man.

His English is very good. The way he speaks and looks like he studied abroad bcoz of pronunciation. Impressive.
@PlanetDougАй бұрын
When I first met him, I assumed he had studied or live abroad as well. His accent and pronunciation was like a native speaker of English. However, he explained that he learned a lot of his English through watching English movies and TV shows - mostly American shows, I assume.

Yes, it worked out well as a snacking evening. I guess you wouldn't call the food I had particularly exotic or even Vietnamese. But it was a good night.

Another enjoyable vid. Nick is a very good companion for these adventures! Also, wanted to express my enjoyment of the blue dot segment, once again. Very instructive! Thanks, mate!

Glad you enjoyed it. I was thinking about you and your connection to Can Tho while I was editing this video. Going out at night like that with Nick showed me the city in a brand new light. Literally. I was amazed at how lit up the city was with all the decorative lights. It made Can Tho seem like a special kind of place.

Cc nice broll on nightlife ride
@PlanetDougАй бұрын
Thanks 👍 When I was rewatching the video while editing it, I thought perhaps I let it go on for too long. But I thought the scenery at night was quite cool with all the decorative lights. Even riding back to my hotel with Nick afterwards was great. I kept the GoPro running the whole time to capture some of the nightlife scenery. I figure if people don't want to sit through all of that B-roll, they can fast forward through it. 😀

1st customer of the day could bring good luck for the whole day.. look like all asian countries have such believe..
@PlanetDougАй бұрын
I guess that's true. I think I've heard of similar beliefs in other countries. But it never occurred to me that, as a customer, you shouldn't walk up to a bunch of food stalls, take video, ask about prices, and then walk away without buying anything. That could be seen as bringing bad luck. Nick explained how that worked to me. And I think he asked for permission for me to film at every stall that we approached. It was great to have him as a helper and guide.

Maybe you should go to Chau Doc and try the markets while you are near there further up Doug. Nick"s English is spot on perfect, he will make a professional tour guide to westerners . Good on him 👍
