I appreciate you sharing your process with the flower arranging, adjusting the placement and stem lengths rather than magically cutting them to the exact perfect length and achieving perfect placement on the first try every time. I know you have been doing this for years, and you always have beautiful arrangements accenting (but never overtaking) your tables, corners, and rooms. The simple fact that even you have to "play" with the individual blooms to achieve the bouquet you have pictured in your mind gives me hope that I can one day do the same with consistent practice. It also gives me an excuse to purchase fresh flowers and actually use the beautiful vases I have managed to acquire over the years. I also love how none of your blooms were thrown out, and that you made smaller arrangements with the "leftovers." Sometimes a single bloom is all that is needed to bring the perfect touch of color!
@susanbartlett34212 жыл бұрын
Also, purple has always been my favorite color, and amethyst has always been one of my favorite gemstones. That and rose quartz are the 2 gemstones I have been most drawn to over the past several years. I have a bathroom done in shades of purple and pink, and I think I might try to figure out how to incorporate these gemstones into the decor.

I agree! I love having gray as my "neutral" color throughout my home. It lends itself well to any accent color. I'm a little hesitant to use bolder, brighter colors because I want my home to be cozy and classy, and I am afraid that if I used "louder" colors, it would be the opposite. A color series from the "queen of class" would certainly help us (well, at least me anyway) "brighten up" our homes in a sophisticated manner, and maybe even inspire us to step outside our comfort zone! (I have quite a bit of gray in my wardrobe as well, but my diet at least is pretty colorful!)

@@susanbartlett3421Most of the aristocratic homes I have visited (not museums but actual homes of friends and business associates) are usually quite colorful and certainly very chic. It is not about the colors you use but about the quality, composition, proportion, wallpaper patterns, textures, etc that make something look more refined than not.

A beautiful video, I love the amethyst theme. When I first got a Tempurpedic memory foam mattress, it was off-gassing terrible chemical vapors. Both my cat and I, who shared the bed, of course, became ill. My carbon monoxide monitor alarm went off after two days, when the weather got really hot, and it had pegged out at the maximum concentration of 500 ppm. The detector was saturated, so it never worked again. The mattress really trapped body heat too, and I kept waking up hot and sweaty multiple times at night. I replaced the mattress with a natural rubber/latex foam one and have had no further problems or chemical smells. I did keep the Tempurpedic adjustable bed base, I love it, but it’s needs a flexible mattress, like a foam one. Not all foam is created equal, I won’t consider a plastic mattress ever again. Clean, healthy mattresses are important, we spend 8 hours a day on them, and most commercial mattresses produce toxic fumes, it’s worth the additional money to buy a natural one.
