Not the only one, but wrong nonetheless. Saying somebody is a “pretty good” singer is using an adjective to modify a noun in terms of skill. Saying somebody is an “Olympic skier” is, again, using an adjective to modify a noun but doesn’t pass judgement regarding the quality of her skiing skills. Of course, one could argue exceptional skill is required to compete at olympics, and they’d be right IMHO, and in that case a comparable statement about a singer could be “Grammy nominated artist”. Either way, you’re a bitch.

As an Austrian these American interviews with ski racers are always pretty funny when it comes to questions about the sport. Like, they try to use the fact that Vonn has won 8 world championship medals to show how great she was despite the fact that for her whole career Vonn was always underachieving at world championships and there are quite a few skiers with a better record at world championships, even in Vonn's generation. It's like trying to explain to someone who has no idea about basketball how great LeBron is by saying he has won 3 championships. Like yeah, that's great, but that's not why people consider him the greatest of his generation.

Did you see how she clung on to Trevor's hands at the end. I see Lindsey and Trevor hooking up in the future. She did it before with a half black, half asian dude, (Tiger Woods) and she'll also do it with a half black, half swiss dude (Trevor Noah). And I'm ALL FOR IT. It would be the best decision she (and he could possibly make). He is awesome and she is awesome.

There's one Czech lady called Ester Ledecká. She does snowboard. In last year Olympics she wanted to try skiing. And she has beaten Lindsey and took gold. Nobody could believe that, including herself. It was a really awesome sport story.

I applaud Vonn for using her fame to do good in the world. And I’m sure, she’s truly dedicated to it. It’s an awesome position to be in. But EVERY sports biggie has a foundation. Because it is tax deductible. It doesn’t take much more, than a bit of time and putting your face in front of a camera. I do get it, that, especially in the US, patronage is mighty important. “Pick something, anything. Play the shining knight. And you’ll benefit from it way more than them.” I could respect it more, if at least they’d be honest and open about that part. But I detest, that such horseplay is needed in our society at all. PR of just doing good, no strings attached, should be worth way more than that.
