It lasted 6 hours. I think those people don't really watch the whole things, just the recaps and hyperbolic praises on Fox & Co., but no news about what happened. I have found people who have no idea about the insults and the xenophobia at the rally. Others content themselves with "Trump didn't say that," and trust the mass deportations will simultaneously end crime, improve economy, lower their taxes, improve schools, raise their salaries, make drugs disappear, and bring back the country to some mythical Norman Rockwell-time when everything was fine.

I just by chance spoke to 2 women I came across today…1 middle aged, 1 gen z. I braved the question “Are you going to vote?” BOTH SAID NO! For various reasons but basically it’s all so crazy they just want to throw up their hands. I was able to kindly explain some of what is at risk for them. They were both shocked & i think leaning towards voting after our conversation. TALK TO THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU! Many people are so worn down they’ve checked out. Encourage them to engage for that 1 action.

My mom is Australian, a legal residential alien, and she got grabbed by ICE immigration in florida when we were getting off a carnival cruise. My dad is American, I was born here, shes been here for over 30 years, my parents have owned their house for 25 years, we own a buisness, live in California and she was shipped 2 hours away on a bus to an ICE immogration prison for 6 months! I waited for 10 hours on the sidewalk for her in a state I didnt know, and they wouldnt even tell me where they took her. We were finish pur vacation and getting off a cruise ship and theh made her go through a different line then me. She almost died in there!! They tried to deport her for no reason and we had a university in florida pick up her case and the students as their final project under the supervision of the department director got her freed! It was insanity... she got graves disease in there and they tried to tear apart an american family... why? Because she got accudently put on a bus and got lost in the the system? Its devestating when it happens to you, it happened to us. Even a white collar, caucasian family from orange county California. No one is safe.
