Frank Gore is a more of a 49er hall of famer than McCaffrey is. If Christian is going to get in, there are alot of men that have to be hall of famers first.

NO! Mcaffery is not in the HOF. Why? Oft injured with Carolina, now the same deal with the NIners. He had one great year with the NIners and one great year with the Panthers ..in between he was always hurt. If you put him in, you have to put Terrell Davis from the Broncos in.

It's odd how Dan is such a fantastically intelligent interviewer and presenter, yet when he offers Hall of Fame takes, he's always reducing it down to simplistic career total numbers. Career totals reflect circumstances more than the player's impact against the most difficult opponents. You have to watch the critical games, deeply. That's a far better test. From his conclusions, I can only assume he doesn't watch that much football that analytically. The best GMs, like the best gamblers, are all about isolating the player's contribution to victory from their circumstances and their production against weak opponents.
@george4747473 сағат бұрын
When you watched backs like Marshawn Lynch and Darren Sproles on the key downs in the biggest games against the best opponents, it was just so obvious that they were clearly Hall-of-Fame-level players - clearly on a level above guys with more career yards. No unbiased viewer at the time would have said Frank Gore was close to their level. (An extra 5 seasons of 4.0 yards per carry isn't really gonna make anyone win Super Bowls.)
