@4:00 Sorry, Marchand is wrong on this point. Chuck is great but you can't just stick him with anyone. The key to Inside the NBA is the chemistry between all four Guys. They know their roles and have their jobs. EJ is the Godfather, Kenny is the Instigator, Shaq is mean Mr. Sensitive and Chuck plays the goofball.

It's also the crew tho. The crew won't transfer to ESPN and the crew is huge part of Inside The NBA. That continuity and family atmosphere is part of what we like too.

Barkley = the Firecracker Shaq = the maniac who lets it fly Ernie = the MC who sets the stage Kenny = the steady dude who grounds the pyrotechnics Although Barkley's the most entertaining guy, he would not have any *pop* if he were surrounded by [those stiffs at] _NBA Countdown_ . I can tell from reading the comments that some people did not read the details. TNT is licensing and that's the key word licensing Inside the NBA to ESPN and ABC starting next season. TNT will continue to produce the show, TNT will still have full control of the show and it will still be from their Atlanta Studio except for when they are on the road. Inside the NBA will appear on ESPN an ABC for their NBA opening week coverage, Christmas Day games, the last day of the regular season, all ABC regular season games, the playoffs and the NBA finals. ESPN Studio show NBA Countdown will continue as is. Despite TNT no longer having NBA games starting next season, TNT parent company Warner Brothers Discovery still owns inside the nba.

Charles is the main guy, but its insane to suggest Ernie and to a lesser extent Shaq and Kenny are somewhat interchangeable. This was the only way this could happen, a production deal between TNT/WB and Disney (or the other new broadcast partners). It's not like these studios aren't producing content for the others already. EJ said he's not living TNT and without him they weren't keeping this crew together. Shaq and Charles would get their own deals with one of the new players and Kenny would have a podcast or something. The good news is they can do the Finals now.

This Charles glaze is wild. I love Charles on Inside the NBA, but because of the rest of the guys around him and their chemistry. He consistently has the worst actual basketball analysis on the show, to the point it feels like he doesn’t watch any basketball if they aren’t on air covering it. And even in those games I’m wondering how much he’s paying attention sometimes. The show works because the 4 guys work perfectly TOGETHER. Charles or Shaq going to another show would not be good for anyone

ESPN pregame/halftime/postgame crews were just awful. Stephen A Smith is a reason by himself not to watch. Mike Greenberg just proves every time he is on air that he really is as vacuous as he seemed on the radio and that ESPN fired the wrong Mike. When I do get to watch a game on ABC, I switch to something else whenever that lame crew is on screen.

The narrative that Kenny is just like some secondary role player on inside the nba is lazy and annoying. Kenny Smith is as smart, funny, and honest as they come and is as important to that show as Barkley and Shaq and EJ. Marchand is totally off in his perception of the show. It’s not just Barkley.

They always mention just the 4 hosts all the time. The show is only half as good without Underdog, TK and the rest of the production crew. The ideas and segments they come up with, Barkley has nothing to do with those, that's all production crew. I can tell you right now. If ESPN decides to use their own people and not bring TNT's production crew along, that show will only be half as good, and that's a lot of value lost.
