This is an arena setup, not a round. They sell tickets for behind the stage. And he takes them into consideration. Bruce wrote this one for Southside Johnny back in the 70s. Might be a co-write with Stevie who produced SSJ at the time

Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa share a remarkable musical journey and a deep personal connection. Let’s delve into their story: Meeting and Friendship: Bruce Springsteen, the iconic musician, and Patti Scialfa, also a talented artist, first crossed paths in the early 1980s at a bar and music venue called the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Scialfa, who often sang at the venue with a friend’s band, caught Springsteen’s attention with her voice. He approached her, expressing his admiration for her talent. Their initial meeting blossomed into a beautiful friendship. They would sit together, chat, and share moments. Springsteen even offered to drop her off at her mom’s place since she didn’t have a car. Their chemistry extended beyond music, and their connection grew stronger. Musical Collaboration: In 1984, Patti Scialfa officially joined the E Street Band as a backup vocalist during their Born in the U.S.A Tour. Onstage, their voices harmonized seamlessly, creating magic for audiences worldwide. Their musical partnership was a testament to their shared passion for music and their ability to complement each other’s talents. Love and Marriage: Despite their initial friendship, it wasn’t until 1988 that their relationship turned romantic. Bruce Springsteen had recently split from his first wife, Julianne Phillips, and he and Scialfa fell deeply in love. They tied the knot in 1991 and have been inseparable ever since. Background and Influence: Patti Scialfa, like Springsteen, hails from New Jersey. She was born in Deal, Monmouth County. Her musical journey began with her maternal grandfather, who taught her music. They would play the piano together, and he valued her opinions, which was powerful for her. Scialfa’s solo music career has also been significant, and she continues to contribute her talent to the E Street Band. Family Life: Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa have three children together. Their enduring love story is not only about music but also about companionship, shared dreams, and unwavering support. In summary, Patti Scialfa is not only Bruce Springsteen’s wife but also an integral part of his musical journey, adding her voice and spirit to the iconic E Street Band. 🎶🎤🎸

I sat behind the stage on the last night of the reunion tour at Madison Square Garden. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed sitting back there. #1 Bruce and the band play to the people behind the stage a good amount. #2 they have a screen back there so you can see the band as if you were sitting in front of the stage. #3 it was fun watching the rest of the crowd as if you were in the band. Would it be my first choice in a place to sit? No, but if they were the only seats I could get, I wouldn't hesitate to get them.

"Talk to me" is a song written by Bruce in colaberation with Southside Johnny, one of his best friends from recent days. And everytime when "Talk to me" is on the setlist at a New Jersey concert it might happen that Southside Johnny will show up on the stage. On the other hand "Talk to me" is one of the most famous songs performed by Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. Half of the "Miami Horns" will also play with Southside Johnny on his tour.

This song was written during the Darkness on the Edge of Town sessions. It's one of the dozens that got left off the album because it didn't fit the mood - as you said, it was too upbeat and fun. Stevie was still producing Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes so he took the song to them and it's one of their biggest hits. It's actually NOT a live staple, I wouldn't say it's rare but not common either.

Relationship ? Hmmmm..... ähmmmm Patti is his wife. She has an extraordinary deep voice timbre with a kind of jodeling. There are some songs in Bruce's repertoire which will be mainly played, if Patti is with on tour e.g. "Human Touch". This has happened not repeatedly, as she was kid-sitting and supporting their three children at home.

It's a fun performance. "He probably does this song every single time" ... eh, not so much. It was given to Southside Johnny in '78 for his Hearts of Stone album (Steven Van Zandt composed most other tracks on that album and I believe he functioned as Southside Johnny's manager at the time). Hearts of Stone have been referred to as "the best album Bruce Springsteen never recorded". Springsteen released his version in 2010 on a compilation album of previously unreleased songs and alternate versions. Most live performances was in the following tour. I guess it could happen it get played live again, but last time was in 2014. In 2012 he brought Southside Johnny on stage to perform it together.

Bruce is not a band, he has a band, it's not the same. If someone doesn't agree with something, the door is just there, band members are employees, not partners.

David, I love your new scoring system......But here's the thing. You have given the Boss a couple of 10s in the past. and typically in the 7.5 to 8.5 range, I am feeling you on the need to be tougher in the scoring. but now this new system make it look like your downgrading Bruce and the band. That's just not fair to me or JFK. I think you need to have a separate scoring system just for Springsteen.........What do you think?..... I AM KIDDING!!!!! 🤪. 😈

Hi. :) Can I recommend something different? Nothing from rock or metal genres, something more poppy, but beautiful. There is japanese band called 女王蜂 of Queen Bee, their vocalist Avu-chan is non-binary person, she was born in male body, but she feel more like woman and prefer to be called and treated as woman. She has very unique voice and she also can sing with both male and female voice. There is official video for their song "回春" ("Kaishun", "Rejuvenation" in english) where she is as two characters, male and female (or more like two parts of her), so it's vocal duo of her male and female voices, incredible. Maybe it's not best song to show Avu-chan's insane vocal range, because she not singing there really low or really high notes, but fact that she can sing with such different timbres and creat such amazing duo is incredible. This song is actually sequel of their song "売春" ("Baishun", i don't know if KZbin will delete this comment if I write english translation of this word, so...), but official music video of "Baishun" is on vevo, so it would be blocked... I hope you can react to something like that, I mean some not rock or metal, some j-pop song (actually Queen Bee have some rock songs, even punk rock on their begginings) and fact that Avu-chan is non-binary person is not problem for you. She's also mixed, she has black african father, her beauty is very interesting, very beautiful person. :) I hope you will react to it. ;)
