This is just one example of why I am such a huge fan of David’s show, this was absolutely fascinating to watch and I wouldn’t have known about Jack Barsky’s story otherwise. Not only this though, I have honestly found every aspect of the David Pakman show to be vastly superior to the corporate media that dominates in this country. Thank you so much David for the service you provide for Americans and the world at large, I can’t understate my gratitude for having an intellectual and truthful source of news and information, especially in these dark times. You are a glimmer of hope in a sea of lies, hatred, nationalism and stupidity which seem to be overtaking this country at present

If the "communist" countries of the East had actually been communist -- or any kind of genuine socialism -- instead of authoritarian states practicing some variation of state capitalism or other, things may have played out a lot differently. But even so, there _were_ a few ways in which even that perversion of "communism" corrupted by Stalin still managed to provide better for the people. If we ever manage to get a _Western Socialism_ up and running, and can prevent the tyrannical sorts from corrupting it (such as those who currently exist as Billionaires and Millionaires and have plenty of bloodshed on their hands, it's just better hidden) we might just be okay.

It would be interesting to hear what he thought of the TV show 'The Americkans' about an American family with a mother-father team that were Soviet spies (not the kids) around the same time period. The father got to really like America and started to gravitate towards its customs, much to the dismay of his wife (a patriotic Russian)....really interesting dichotomy of lifestyles.
