Loved the video. I’ve been enjoying your channel for a long time and I get excited whenever you touch on either Zimbabwe or Botswana. Just a nice to know, been seeing Zimbabwean oranges and blueberries in 🇬🇧 shops. Also they didn’t even talk about the Eastern highlands which have more cool stuff. Thanks fam. ❤

That's the first thing that came to my mind after watching that amazing video about my country. I thought to myself, the Eastern Highlands area is probably one region with the most breathtaking tourist attraction places because of its scenery, yet it was only mentioned in passing when they spoke about the mountain ranges and Mt. Nyangani having the highest point in the country. Great video regardless, I really loved the playful yet very educational vibe. I wish Geography was taught like this in school.

The Zimbabwe Capital City Harare has the root word Harar, which is from the Ethiopian language where the shona people passed during the Bantu exodus, meaning peoples who live amongst mountains but Harare named after Chief Neharawe a shona chief , means a place of no sleep. Sub saharan Bantu tribes, a lot of them are from the Hebrew lineage, for example, Lemba jews in Zimbabwe and South Africa ....., who are children of Senah, a man from the Levites of Israel. Zimbabwe has many Holy places where people are not allowed to visit, and even when picking up wild mushrooms you are not allowed to say bad words , you may get lost or have a death walk until someone finds you. I appreciate the video, the reactions, and every fun, we Zimbabweans we hope one day God will restore our country to its former glory. I encourage you to visit my country . Cheers

Yes Zimbabwe do have the Rhino - Zimbabwe was the first country in Africa to spearhead the campaign “Save the Rhino” from poaching back in the mid 1980’s.
@tanakamubonderi5130Ай бұрын
Yes, there are Rhinos in Zimbabwe but the population was deteriorating due to illegal poaching of the valuable Rhino Horn. As a result, the remaining Zimbabwean Rhinos are kept in protected areas... During the 'Save The Rhino' campaign, a song was recorded about 3 decades ago, titled, 'Run Rhino Run'... you should have a listen.

Totems are common in Southern Africa and elsewhere. Actually the Ndebele people use their totems as last names. So are some Zulus in South Africa.

Our totem is the python, we're called the Saunyamas (those who only eat meat - though we do eat plants too) or Mheta (squeeze by coils). We come from the north of the Eastern Highlands, Nyanga and Honde Valley areas, which are the most beautiful parts of Zimbabwe by far! You must visit.

The borrowdale dance was not invented by Alick Macheso. It has been here since the 80s. Macheso made it popular by creating a variation of it that mimicks a race horse in full gait with a jockey riding it, and he introduced it at a live show during a horse racing derby at Borrowdale Race Course in Harare, and it took off!!! And it only goes well with the sungura music beats.

The Mutupo assigning animals to different clans was there hundreds of years ago. Yes people of the same Mutopo are not allowed to marry, even if they met randomly in the USA, Japan, Europe.. Etc. Surnames change, but mutupo is only spoken, and not written in identity documents. Even harder a boy can not marry a girl with the same Mutopo as his mother, a girl not a boyfriend with his father's.
