Your new building looks totally awesome, at least the parts that we have been able to see so far. No doubt that the finished project won't be anything but fantastic! Cabinets and strip lighting look great, and the new Detail Geek sign is perfect! You must be awfully excited and happy with how it has turned out. I understand from an earlier comment by you that the actual construction is ahead of the videos, so I would imagine that in real time it is close to completion, if not already done. It's all looking really good, Mitch! I'm a bit puzzled by one element I see in both the shop and the studio, but I'm also no kind of expert in building, so please forgive me for asking: when it comes to the various wall surfaces going up, I'm wondering why the cabinets were all put into place first? Will they be pulled back out so the finished wall panels can be installed, or will the cabinets be what's directly over the insulation? Thanks for satisfying my curiosity, if you care to do so 😊.

From my building knowledge they have to attach the cabinets to the studs in the wall flush for maximum support. If they put the slat wall on first and then try to drill the cabinets on it won’t be as supportive (think like tiling a kitchen backsplash you put the cabinets first into the studs and then tile around.) i think to finish it and keep it water tight in the studio they might use a silicone caulking around the edges where the cabinets and slat wall meet to keep water from getting behind or causing mold issues. Im no expert but this was my thought process as i was thinking the same thing in the video. Hopefully Mitch replies though :)

It is very different to see cabinets installed before the walls are finished. The metal cabinets might have been better for the shop, but getting wet may cause them to rust. Your colors look great.

At 5:26-5:29 it shows a junction in your ductwork that has not been taped. Make sure you tape ALL of your fittings! Looking good!

Such attention to detail... Say Mitch? Did the workers have a problem with you taking the surveillance... Err... "KZbin" video recordings of them working? 😈 I did like the movement of the sunlight over the floor during the timelapse. I know, I'm weird, but it was oddly enjoyable. I like the open ductwork too. I had those dampers installed in my condo, the ability to set zones is really smart. Did you go for the Hepa Filtration or perhaps a ozone/ultraviolet light addition to the HVAC air system?
