Definitely one of our favorite games of the year so far. I like how you emphasize the storytelling aspect.

I love this game so much. Everything you said is spot on, particularly about the storyline at first then getting into the game itself after a good few games. In my first game Chewy got captured and told the Empire where the rebel base was !!! Well , it was 1 of 3 locations but the Empire knew it couldn't be the other 2. Chewy ! You couldn't handle the black ball of interrogation. Damn you Chewy !!!!

I've added this to my buying list a while ago, I knew it was going to be amazing. I'm still trying to save up to buy it. Gonna be a blast playing it when I do :D

Did you ever buy it ? And if you did, how was it for you ?

This is still a great game.

Star Wars: Rebellion has a strong theme. Game creates stories that one remembers long after the game is played. Narrows escapes, everything hanging on the thread before that thing that turns the situation around. Great game indeed. We just played this one with my co-host who had never played anything else than Hungry Hippos or Monopoly. Dude is huge Star Wars fan. It was a great experience for him and we got some fun, fresh view for our footage.

One thing that I would like to see on Dice Tower reviews is how much the game is based or luck vs strategy.

+Paulo B. That's true. This game might seem luck based since there are dice involved, but most of the choices done here are based on information. Battles are another thing and may be random at times, but you should always consider the odds before engaging the enemy. In all, Rebellion is way more about strategy than luck.

That is a good suggestion. Major thing in this game is the intel (what you are able to gather and deduct). That affects on your decisions and where to send troops and how many. Situations are solved with dices but one can influence the odds greatly by choosing correct characters, troops, ships and tactics.

It has some elements of luck. The expansion removes even more elements of luck, and is a great improvement to an all ready great game. In my experience most time luck is not a factor you should count on. The one with more dice usually wins the encounter he put himself in. In the video he talks about an X Wing vs a super star destroyer, for That to happen the X Wing need to roll 6 on a d6 4 times in a row. And the SSD needs to roll three 1 or 2(misses) four times in a row. Let R2 calculate those odds for you.

Andre, I agree with you whole-heartedly! Also currently my favorite two-player game. Really in love with this one! :-D In fact, I will be surprised if a game comes out this year to dethrone this one in my collection... I can almost crown this one my game of the year already. heh ;-) My first 10 out of 10 game on BGG this year.

+KabukiKid I'm with you here. I had Stronghold from Portal Games on my list for 2 player, but it was swiftly knocked off the pillar. Let's see what 2016 can bring for us :)

Great idea but cut the game play in half. It just bores me when we've hit the one hour mark and still have a bunch of planets to go kicking the door in on.

Why do people suddenly hate co-op games when it's co-op vs co-op. Do you hate all co op games or just deep strategical co op games like Rebellion?
