Thanks as always for the in-depth review! The new background's aesthetic is very pleasing to the eye (except when I'm squinting while trying to make out the book titles 😅). A small gripe however; during the explanation the camera's focus from this angle is a bit blurred. Hopefully it's something which can easily be tweaked for future videos?

I love this game, but sadly my group had a bad experience with imperial settlers and I can't convince them that this game is different enough to warrant them giving it a try. Luckily, the solo mode is also great.

Great review! And he's right, the Japanese island Uminenko clan is definitely the most complex clan with its added phases. The Saikoro clan difficulty is listed highest, but that's difficulty to win, not to play... Its powers are actually very simple, but winning is challenging as it consistently improves by rewarding or trading with opponents, making it require more attention as to how to minimize your positive impact on them.

Great video Zee. You make this expansion seem very good. I think the islands are reaching their limit in terms of unique combinations. It is still a very good game.

In the Portal Trailer for this expansion, they have the card with the "typo" Zee mentioned on it - "I Want to Belive" in it. I wonder if that misspelling is intentional, like the card "De-Nile" which seem to play on the word sounding like "Denial."

Got mine pre-ordered and should be out by the end of the month. These factions/clans definitely intrigue me. What's your favorite faction so far? Mine is Umineko with the docking/storage phases. I've heard if this does well, there will be a second arc of expansions. Considering they brink lots of interesting mechanisms to the game, I think it would be fantastic to get more down the road.

The solo mode in the core is one of its strong points, but it's disapointing how they diluted the solo content on the expansions.
