Not sure what changed, but Zee sounds great in this video! Must be a new mic, or maybe Zee has a new voice coach...

You are a great reviewer, Zee. I always come away from your videos with an accurate idea if i would enjoy the game. Thank you!

I really like this game. While I prefer the aesthetics of the original Japanese print, I'm excited to have an easy to obtain version with good quality cards. This is easily one of my favorite small games.

Couldn’t not have been a less inspiring theme. Should have just dropped it altogether instead of even trying. Why bother with a circus theme if not even the cards have illustrations on them that align with that theme. Why did they change it all from the previous editions visuals?

I didnt even spot a theme tbh

I don't think the card colours were mentioned in the review (unless I missed it?) and I wondered about them on the way through: It turns out they just correlate to the numbers as a visual aid.

I love card games, but ladder climbing games just never clicked for me. I just don't see the appeal.

I felt the theme very forced, when I first played the game. Later after I bought my own copy, I found it easier to teach the game presenting the theme to new comers, especially for folks who are not familiar with trick taking games. "Look, you're a circus director: In your turn you want to give a better show, but if you can't or don't want to, you can scout someone from your competitor and put him/her in your own show"...

I prefer the aesthetics of the original edition: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5PZh6WroZd1la8 And the additional VP tokens in various denominations seem an unnecessary complication (pen & paper is faster).

This card game is amazing. If it is an 2021 game, it definitely is my No. 2 game!

I adore this game. Must have played a hundred games on my iPad and it's been a hit when I introduce it to other players. Easy to teach, easy to play and engaging while you still can converse and have fun with your friends. I found that "luck" sorta averages out over several rounds. Some rounds you get a horrible hand and you'll have to do damage control, trying to lose as few points as possible while others might be be dream hands where everything clicks. The game is also tighter with five players and you'll see less big sets of cards and you'll have to do with playing fewer cards. The tiny box is also neat, a great game to take with you while traveling or visiting the pub. Highly recommended.

Maybe it´s about time to appreciate creative, pasted on themes in abstract games. Scout looks great. Azul is another example. A hugh ´+´ for me.

Thanks for your thorough review! I just ordered the game as I’m looking for a family friendly game that can be enjoyed by a variety of players. I’m optimistic this hits the mark! Small size looks great for travel too.

Has anyone played this 2p? The rules seemed really weird. If you scout from your own set, for example, are you still losing a scout chip, or do you get a chip back for scouting your own set making it effectively zero cost?
@samuelwei31902 жыл бұрын
You never scout your own set.
@DrMcFly28 Жыл бұрын
2p rules are crazy ambiguous, and the rules have changed drastically between editions, adding to confusion. Luckily there's a BGG thread with clarifications from the publisher - the basic jist is that you either show or repeatedly scout (on the same turn!) until you're ready to show. Also, the opposing player does not get scout tokens when you scout. Hence, each player has only three chances to scout per round, and if you're unable to show the round ends.

Great game. The only flaw of is that the cards are pretty flimsy, yet the box is unable to hold sleeved cards.

Hi 😁I wonder about the "show" action with single cards.. i must show a card with a higher value than the active single card in order to beat it? I thought so but got confused cause the rules says "if you will only show 1 card, you may choose any card from your hand".... 🥴🥴🥴
@markusbiewer2756 Жыл бұрын
The card has to be higher, but you can take from wherever it is in your hand.

I think keeping the card order is prone to abuse - not really getting this game but i do like the idea of cards that can be flipped - different idea of not beeing able to change the order of the cards...

I like how it looks but the theme doesn’t add anything to the game, like you mentioned, and I think this one can be played with the deck from Dealt! (Amigo games) some chips for scouting and a notepad for the points lol. That’s what I’m gonna do, I got Dealt! for $9.00 and Scout is $25.99 😖

Wait wait wait....it's an Oink Games game... That makes this a BIG deal....Oink Games doesn't typically publish bad games. Troika (another published by Oink Games) is a quick go-to game in my group!!
