Duuuuuude, this was a nostalgia trip for me. For my 10 song list (born in 1997) I'd have to include: 1. My Apocalypse (Escape the Fate, I remember hearing it in middle school and I was blown away) 2. What I've Done (Linkin Park, the first transformers movie introduced me to them, then me and my bro proceeded to listen to the albums they've released that time and got hooked), 3. Living after Midnight (Disturbed, now the reason for this is cause that's how I found Judas Priest, and am forever grateful for it lmaoo) 4. I am Weightless (Septembre, thank you Need for Speed Underground 2), 5. Blinded in Chains (A7x, thank you Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005) 6. Kotov Syndrome (Rise Against, again another amazing song I heard in Middle School. Honestly I heard a bunch of Rise Against songs at once, but this one was just super hype and it stood out more). 7. Nobody (Skindred, thank you once again Need for Speed Underground 2). 8. Your Betrayal (BFMV, though Hand of Blood's a classic I ended up doing a presentation for English class regarding the theme "Love and Betrayal", and came across this absolute banger when searching up "metal songs with love and betrayal" on google. And yes, I brought a guitar and amp to class to perform it for the extra credit lmfao) 9. Blood and Thunder (Mastadon, thank you once again Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005, you'll forever be the superior version of Most Wanted) 10. This is War (30 Seconds to Mars, I was blown away from the transitioning of the bridge to the chorus, like dayum). There's so much more I wanna include, but the 10 song limit ;-;

The Sleeping is one of my top 5 Bands and they just ripped from ep to last album and into Night Verses.. To see someone else love them, this is great

I still jam out to the somatic defilement on a regular basis, that whole album is just brutality in its purest, most beautiful form.

Okay, couple of things: the first version of "Feel Good Drag" from Never Take Friendship Personal is my favorite, and second, this will date me, but I was already out of high school (class of '99!) when the music you guys list was coming out and I'm 40 now! I didn't start getting into heavy music until I was out of high school so for me, the 2000's are my favorite years of discovering the metal and hard rock scene. Linkin Park, P.O.D., Papa Raoch, Trapt, Demon Hunter, Killswitch Engage, Unearth, Shadows Fall I would list as some of the more important bands to me during those years.

I hail from a different culture and my personal journey into metal was a somewhat of a plunge into the depths from the beginning, and by god this list just doesn't register, lmao, I've never heard most of these, I don't have any nostalgia about them and my tastes are somewhat distant from most of the list. Though your enthusiasm is infectios for sure and I've had a grand time watching this video regardless! And I'll have to agree with Austin about Hand Of Blood, shit's just pure fucking gold.
