DG social media: Stay weird disc golfers! Also DG social media: wow, how weird was that video?
@mrshanergroves4 ай бұрын
I totally get Eagles Video. I was a video boater for rafting companies in WV since I was a teenager. We got to make completely unique rafting videos of a trip with no criticism and got to be totally ourselves to entertain the guests and highlight their wild ride down the river. I saw completely ridiculous self made videos like this almost daily. It is all in good fun and no one took it personally. Seeing the dg world act to cool to laugh is the only thing cringe about it.

When the audience is mostly youngsters this kind of material is gold. And nobody wants to play with people who think there's something wrong about it.

You are 1000% wrong about that amazing video from Eagle. The video made me laugh from start to finish. I'll never throw the disc, but the ridiculous video was hysterical.

Why'd the word douchey come to mind when I was watching the latest episode about "the continued misadventures of making not only WATCHING disc golf harder to access. But also more boring to watch" by the DGPT. Equalizer holes that can really get in your head, and ruin you are essential to PROFESSIONAL disc golf. Because, they are. We fans deserve that.
@McSlobo4 ай бұрын
Of course they have to make content harder to access. Otherwise it might spread wider which in turn could cause the sport to grow larger. Let's gatekeep this thing to ourselves!
@earthman8084 ай бұрын
@@McSlobo Let's take all the goodwill. Enthusiasm, and willingness to participate in providing content which intents to GROW the sport, and to give eyes access. TO harness the influx provided by a global pandemic. And say. No thanks. We got this, and will do it all in house.

@@PhilipPedro2112 they were a positive until about the mid 90s. Since then they’ve been more restrictive than progressive. The good ole boys got their hands on the levers and have never let go. Growth has been the result of the work of individuals and communities not the pDGA. They’ve been very good at taking credit for doing essentially nothing.

@@PhilipPedro2112 i agree and disagree. I agree that the association is needed. However I disagree because the way it’s running is not assisting in moving the sport forward. I would say it’s really kind of just keeping it from moving past where we are at.
@josephswitzer61604 ай бұрын
@@ClarkPotter in order for the sport to move forward it needs to change. The way it is now the sport will eventually die out. Which is a tragedy because the sport really is a lot of fun and fun to watch. A good example of this is if you look at how local players are growing the sport in areas but then on the national level it is really just kind of stagnant. If the sport wants to grow it needs to grow nationally and the way they are doing things with “sanctioned” events the lack of standards, the way it’s broadcasted, the manner in which players are kind of just doing things randomly. The manufacturers not having standards and the list goes on. The biggest one is the pay to play. Those are all contributing factors as to why the sport is not going to get bigger under the current conditions. Any other sport and people would be in an uproar about it. I mean look at any other major sport in the US. Also look at DG in foreign countries. I’m not saying I have all the answers because I don’t however I can recognize that the way things are going the sport has reached its peak which is a tragedy. This has to do with current PDGA.

Disc golf is changing for the bad you used to be able to watch a whole tournament live a major tournament and now they're making you sign up for disc golf live and pay for it just like them showing for screens little small screens of different holes in different people at the same time that was a bad idea
