Natural hair is beautiful! Also you don't have to deal with the new growth all the time! I wish you luck!
@laneydee58654 жыл бұрын
Maintaining your natural, unrelaxed hair is low maintenance and becomes easier once you find the product or products that work for your particular type of hair. Also, as you maintain and care for your hair it gets easier to manage and becomes so much fun to try new styles. Don't give up. I started my natural hair journey about 8 & 1/2 years ago and haven't regretted it yet. I transitioned my hair then did a big chop one morning before church because I couldn't detangle my hair. Once I cut all my relaxed hair off, I was left with about 2-3 inches of hair...my TWA...and could comb through my hair with so much ease. It shocked me at first but then I accessorized my natural hair with a beautiful flower and went to church. I received so many compliments and haven't looked back or regretted it since. My hair is now 2 inches down my back, kinky curly as ever, and overall gorgeous. My words of advice...go for it, don't worry about what anyone says about your natural hair, and embrace the beauty and ease that comes with your low maintenance natural hair. Much love.
@theorypoem904 жыл бұрын

For most black women it's normal I started getting rexlers when I was 8 in our community it's normal were taught it looks more appealing and is a lot easier to maintain natural black hair takes a lot of work out hair is naturally dry so you have to keep it moisturizers it it or it breaks off and our hair reacts to the weather but I stopped getting perms about 3 years ago and I'm just now gaining thickness back from so much over processing but I love my natural best thing I ever did for my hair !!
@SourStrawberrys7 жыл бұрын
Sinsister Venus That is because it is not easy to manage. Not everyone has the same texture as her. And even with her hair it probally took her a couple hours to shape it like she wanted. You are not seeing all of it. People don't get relaxers because they don't like their hair in its natural texture; that is the ignorant belief thst some assume. They get it because natural hair is time consuming and requires a lot of product and maintenance. Just watch some of the natural videos, they did t wake up like that, it is a process.

Black people were FORCED to follow what you call trends since slavery! Our hair was and still is in a lot of cases deemed ugly and unruly. White people made black women cover their hair as slaves and thus began the "trend" of us for centuries hating our own hair so we tried to wear our hair so as not to draw attention to ourselves. Your hair could cause you to not get a job, to lose a job etc. Even today black girls have been suspended, expelled and sent home because of NATURAL hairstyles! Please read and do your due diligence when it comes to the history of black hair and "so called" trends. When its popular and A LOT of people are doing it; then we tend to call it a trend. But if you can style and where your hair like that NATURALLY, it's not a trend. Just thought I'd put in my 5 cents.

Uasmin Omae Exactly! Ppl see the natural fro, and expect the other girl to be the same.. Everybody is different and not everybody wants this type of look, or natural hair period! Some women are just comfortable wearing weave, lace fronts, wigs, braids, etc., and then you have other women like this woman that's comfortable with their own hair whether it's in a fro, or other natural styles.. Myself, I'm comfortable with my natural hair, in natural low-key hairstyles.. I wouldn't like this big hair all out like this, it draws too much attention! But to each it's own!
@gmetayern6 жыл бұрын
I agree, it seems that only black women are scrutinized when it comes to wearing weaves, coloring their hair, putting on wigs, etc. But white women are changing their hair all the time with changing from brunette to blond, perming their hairs, wearing wigs, using flat irons, wearing extentions, can't figure it out.

Man, women who are natural every now and then go to wigs and weaves. You can’t tell me that’s a lie. If you can you haven’t been with a woman 😩 they switch it up. As for the blonde part... so what. There’s actually black people in africa (I forget the tribe) who had naturally blonde hair. You can embrace natural on other woman and still rock the hair you wanna rock. I once got called Dark & Ugly by a darksin classmate. There are more lightskin peeps these days who are #TeamNatural than before. Some darkskin men give us a hard time about not perming anymore because of white mainstream programming. It's usually older dudes that are appreciative of natural women 😊

I like my hair I take care of it , i was just frustrated because last summer I had a big afro way before Colin kaepernick , I got the meanest looks from white people and some times my own people , I cut it low now , but still it was hard . I know how you feel I just hate the fact a mixed person can go around and wear their hair curly and no one complains but when a actually black man does it were looked at as a threat .
