I'd never imagine a deer approaching a dog, let alone trusting it to be within 2 feet of her fawns. She loves this dog though clearly and knows he won't hurt her fawns. This really made my day better. I love animals.

@@tdbhmusic I consider myself a male from birth. The doctors generally agree. It is possible to lower the volume of typing, but in some environments, I've found that not *loudly* expressing my perspective leads inevitably to no one remembering me saying anything whatsoever. This behaviour of mine has persisted into adulthood & has sadly become even more pronounced. However there are very few characteristics that I seem to share with my peers. An inborn love for all living things is one. The enegmatic creature behaviours which you've found is wonderfully rare. I have no idea how ; my purpose here is to try & reassure you that men may not be, in general, as mired in the negative as you seem to feel. There are many males who cringe at mean-spirited humour & actively endeavour to cultivate a zone of peaceful, respectful space around ourselves, & try very hard to demonstrate (without words) through actions that behaving positively towards life & all the fascinating people, creatures & events we encounter along the way will, more often than not, lead to a positive resolution to whichever conflict is interfering with getting done what we wish to be done. At least, this is one aspect of the route I've taken to try & raise my daughter. I can report back that so far, so very good !! Rant out !!

Who was the last person you knew who walked with *wild deer on a daily basis, just as associates grateful for shared peace&respect? I sometimes don't believe how became so lucky to do so. It feels painfully exclusive. I discovered what I wasn't taught, and what was inaccurate, allowing a new paradigm to guide me other than human constructs and knowledge available. In the last 5 years of 20 walking with wild deer I have learned the most .. upending most of my human teachings to a new understanding..we learn how much we don't know when the truth unfolds before us unfiltered by humanity.. I have found the enlightenment a blessing, yet painful that I can only persuade people to allow themselves opportunity..we all have to see & learn beyond ourselves and beyond each other.. I have been blessed with this level of relaxed interaction with MANY wild animals.. but remember this was a human raised deer, who had a head start by bonding with humans and pets as normal associates.. you are just getting to see "normal interactions" but with different assigned species!😁

It was awesome growing up around that, there were always regulars on our property that knew us and wouldn't run if they saw or smelled us. So you could just watch them in their element, truly beautiful to witness. I miss those days, I've since moved away from home and live in a small city. Now with the light pollution.. I can't even see the stars, I can't hear nature around me, I don't see any wildlife. It's just so different from my upbringing, doubt I'll ever be used to it.

We once owned a second home with 96 acres in an extremely rural area of our state. Our closest neighbors lived over 4 miles away. They relayed to us a story of how they befriended a deer, gained her confidence, and allowed her access to their shed. She spent every night there. Then, she suddenly disappeared and they feared the worst...that they had made her too accustomed to people, and vulnerable to being shot for that reason. But, months later, she returned, with a baby. She would actually stay in the shed during hunting season. (I guess the noise of gunfire frightened her). When we sold the house, we lost contact with them, so I wonder how all of this love played out. I am sure that they have both passed away, as they were both senior citizens at the time, and this was decades ago.

I grew up in rural E. WA. (nearest town 14 mi. away). The area is primarily cattle pasture, scrub & dryland wheat farms and was a favorite area for pheasant hunting. We lived on railroad property. My mother took a shine to the pheasants so, come hunting season, Mom looked up what pheasants like to eat, and bought food for her friends. So, instead of feeding next to the creek they were on railroad property getting fat & happy on the food and water my mother set out. Not only is trespassing on railroad property a crime, it is illegal to use firearms there. She'd slowly stop feeding them the week after hunting season and after 2 years they would come back.

This video gives me so much hope for humanity. This is such a beautiful bond they have for one another and how she brings her babies there for the dog to tend to them is just incredible. My wife and I feed deer, turkey, squirrels, birds, foxes, raccoons and the occasional ducks that come to eat every day. They come right to the edge of our yard on the wood line to eat and they are all very tame. We have been feeding generations of families for years now and they know where to come to eat. Our little jack russell used to chase them but now she just watches them.

I live a a somewhat rural community area with 2 1/2+ arcres .. my backyard is a mix of lawn and large natural habitat .. wild bunnies,racoons,turtles,skunks and a large population of deer that I started putting out feeding blocks and mineral licks for .. amazing to sit on my deck with my morning coffee and my dog and watch all the 4 legged fur babies that find refuge in my yard. Thankfully hunting is illegal inside my community area.

Deer families are EXTREMELY tight.. my 5 year old doe Zoe is an absolutely wild deer, but my regular respectful acknowledgement of her prior lineage and then her when she was a fawn led to her becoming very trusting by experience and me being considered "family" The last 5 years have allowed me to see moments like this, where most folks only see wild deer alarmed.. I get to visit my friends regularly, & they come to see me too.. to hear Zoe calling with contentment or walking up just to say "hi buddy, I'm grateful for your presence" in her relaxed way, getting groomed like I'm family, or sitting together with the family, in the classic chevron "lookout" pattern on the lawn, relaxing..or her falling asleep in front of or next to me.. all these moments are precious & I have learned so much..they live, love and protect each other while monitoring, spying & understanding our routines. To be "behind the lines" watching from the position of a "fellow" rather than another human/etc. has been so enlightening. Amazing to see how they react to approaching threats.. while I'm beside or behind them ..how they evade detection, or how they decoy.. how CLOSE TO HUMAN ACTIVITY THEY ARE EVERY DAY & WE DON'T SEE THEM! Learning how they eat what all they eat, how they eat forage in a way that promotes fuller regrowth.. Just amazing animals..to think my blessings are only the beginning of a re-understanding our world..

I can't believe how young the babies were! She must have had them very near their home (they were still unsteady on their little feet)! It's so wonderful they have a safe, calm place to live and have fun all together. Even the CAT strolled thru to get some attention. Such a beautiful, loving friendship/family! I used to have a family of blacktail deer that stayed on my grandparents land. HOWEVER, there were 2 deer that were sisters (we thought) each w/ children and one deer had all WHITE fur exept her head & legs were brown (looked like she had a pure white blanket thrown over her entire body)! the other was half white half brown fur. All their babies had large white spots of fur all over, EXCEPT one from each family was all brown and looked traditional.. It was the craziest thing to see them running, enjoying life and playing! I would shake a large bag of cut apples (almost every day w/out fail) and they would all come running from everywhere to eat until their hearts content. The mommy deer would let me feed the babies out of my hand at one point (when they felt safe enough after time). It was so special and the memories I will cherish 4ever. They stayed all year round and only when a poacher came and shot the all white mama deer did the entire family leave and never come back. The property was fenced but they were able to jump a small, dipped section if they wanted to leave. They never did until the one sister died. Then we never saw them again. It was absolutely heartbreaking for everyone. Fish and Wildlife officials never took us seriously to try and catch the person who shot her. Yikes. Bambie ending, sorry all. It was, for years a wonderful, beautiful experience though. ❤💚💜💙💔🐾

@anniec.
@anniec. 3 жыл бұрын
@@ladylovesfangs8895 thank u! And u are right, we were so lucky to have them trust us at all. I used to ask my grandfather to fix that part of the fence so they couldn't get out (and I thought, mistakenly, couldn't be shot/harmed for their unique fur/coloring) but my grandfather said it was illegal to keep them trapped inside the property so he didn't want to completely cut off their access to leave (I realized later he wanted to keep them safe and fenced in of course but just couldn't break the law doing it). I guess the rules were they had to be free to come and go as they all pleased (as they were wildlife and not domesticated)? It's actually a very lucky thing they wanted to stay w/ us as long as they did (fresh cut apples/fruit and hay/alfalfa year round might have helped)? LOL! I don't judge hunting/hunters but there was no reason to shoot her as it was done beyond the licensed hunting times. It was just someone that wanted to have her fur or show off a different kind of colored deer I guess? Very sad at the end but awesome to have seen them having a fun life! 💚💜
