It looks like he chose to go through the “proper steps”. Sometimes they have to do a 72hr holding period in case the dog is lost and there are owners looking for them. Most people would look for them at the closest shelter and you can’t always count on found pets to be posted about online, or that whoever found them has the resources to care for them. It is weird that it took that long to process her. There may have been other things going on that weren’t explained in the video, but you would think a shelter experiencing a space crisis would do their best to get dogs out of there that already had interest.

Except that you may have picked up someone’s lost dog and they never saw them again. You don’t know if the dog was a runaway picked up by someone or stolen and then abandoned at the store. You don’t know the dog’s history. Only the vet or AC can determine if the dog was microchipped or abused. If it looked in a healthy state, it probably came from a good home and you just denied the original owners the chance of recovering their pet.

I can understand that the animal control needed to clear her and be sure that her family was not looking for her. I don't like how she was made to stay at the facility that long. They make too many mistakes and she could have been scheduled for euthanasia. The baby was more miserable being there than necessary. Dogs actually cry and feel abandoned by only minutes. A minute to them seems like that's it! They live only in the minute and when they are left they are tormented because it seems like you're never coming back. Now I know that if I am ever so lucky to find a sweetie somewhere, I would never call animal control. God❤ bless you for keeping her! You found yourself a treasure! ❤❤

Not calling animal control means her rightful owners might not Ever find her. That's cruel. She could've slipped out and they're desperate to locate her.

I had to take a seat; the little angel melted me so bad. Dogs are the closest things to angels we have on earth.

Thank God she found you. The way she galloped accross the lawn. One very happy dog. I'd take her home.

Lots of clips like this make my eyes well up, but this one, just seeing her happy in spite of her situation... And us humans getting miserable from a paper cut ... A lot to learn from her and other animals in dire conditions but still soldiering on. Little angels on earth.
