I have two golden glow gene axolotls and they don’t move very much only when they are hungry. Their tank also has to stay at a colder temperature so if you live somewhere warm you need to buy a chiller which is expensive. They also get themselves stuck in the oddest positions. Sometimes if they take on too much air they float on the surface and look like they are dead because they will fall asleep like that. The water quality is wonky a lot because they are messy so you have to check for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate at least every second day. You also have to do a 25 percent water change each week. They also might bite you if they think your finger is a worm, not that it would hurt anyways. They are cute but not a very active pet.

Fun fact: Toothless (how to train your dragon) was based on these adorable little animals! I have about 18 as my dad taught me how to breed when I was 5 (I'm 11 now, looking after a bunch) so I'm trying to stop them from going extinct, they are Apollo cut, I was waiting for this!

In mannerisms and bodily structure he was actually based off of cats, I know that from experience lol. But I can see some resemblance with the head shape there, so it's completely possible the creators took some inspiration from that too. Nonetheless they're still absolutely adorable :)
