People always think it’s weird when humans sleep with dogs but forget dogs are even more social than we are, they are pack animals and sleep, eat and travel always in packs together so his brother taking him up to his bed for the first time must have meant THE WORLD to him because it was saying “YOU ARE MY FAMILY” as he shared his bed and that is BEAUTIFUL.

His exposure to a wider base of bacteria will demonstrably boost his immune system over-all and for many years. On top of this is the fact that many individuals respond well to close company when sleeping (obviously a connection to older human survival behaviours) and the pressure of others sleeping nearby (dogs will often lay their head on their human as the weight can be comforting and can reduce anxiety) benefits both (in many different ways that I won't go into here). As a species, we've spent roughly 20,000 years domesticating the dog and, considering the benefits, I'd say it was a 20K years well spent!

They may only seem to manipulate people in your eyes, but they are loyal and they love you no matter what happens, they don’t care if you give them treats, or if you get them a million toys, they love you. To a person dogs look like part of your life, but to a dog you are their life. Being with their owner makes them happy, and they don’t just use you for what needs you fill.

What a beautiful friendship. I love the snuggles but that little tap on the snout, and the look of love and contentment on the dog's face are precious, also the casual backwards pat on his head while he is doing homework. I am very impressed with the feeding contraption, the dog seems to understand why he needs it and is so calm about getting set up in it. I wish dogs live longer than what they do, but those two have a special bond that not even death can break, and they are living life to he fullest each day, bless them both.

Now I miss my old pitbulls that my mum and dad had. My dad had roxy, a black and white pitbulls and my mum had a black and brown pitbulls called roxanne before they moved in together. I was only 3 so I don't remember much but our fences were low down and roxy ran straight into the road after jumping over the fence and got run over. My pitbulls were each others best friend and roxanne died because she was so heartbroken that she refused to eat and do anything. I miss my pitbulls so much its unbelievable because even though they were only in my life for a year, I loved having them around because of the love they gave me. I may have my rabbit gizmo now but roxanne and roxy will forever be in my heart.. R. I. P roxanne and roxy, i will forever miss you with all my heart, From your little sister.

Crying waters the soul. If I could "schedule" a GOOD, DEEP, sobbing cry once a month, I would. Life is imperfect with a LOT of rough edges and bits of shavings and grime get into the joints of our soul. Tears can help "wash away" life's BS. I had to giggle at the part about him sleeping in bed at night and taking up so much room. my baby girl that passed away last October was only about 10 pounds and she would take up all the room in the bed. she would lies sideways I'd wake up hanging off the side of the bed. At the first big problem with pets the vet answer is put him down, do you want I put you down when you are sick? Leave the pets a chance to live !

alan wisdom this isn't the first animal I've seen with this condition who also got a special chair. Why euthanize when there's other options? I'd put a human down before an animal unless that animal is suffering. My Grammy had to put her best buddy down and she didn't want to but the old girl's quality of life wasn't good and she was suffering. You never wanna see your loved ones suffer. It's amazing all the complex emotions one develops over their pets.
