At 10 months he’s still a young cub though it is pretty large. The big cat gets larger after that too. It takes them a few years for females actually to be a full size adult cat and for males it takes them 4-5 years to reach maturity.

Dash has grown into a magnificent tiger. While it's bittersweet he will never live his life in the wild, he sure has an amazing place to call home & is receiving excellent care!

He got there because he was rescued. He cannot have animal friends because he grew up with none. You can't put a wild animal with a domesticated animal. The animal in the wild will attack and kill the domesticated animal because the domesticated animal doesn't have the tools or resources to fight for themselves in the wild, since they are domesticated. Per the sanctuary’s website “As a neutered adult male, our goal would be to introduce him to his own kind and that will depend on personalities of each cat.” So, not outside the realm of possibility, but it is highly dependent on many factors.

Why neutered? Is there a difference between a sanctuary and wildlife preservation? I.e. do sanctuaries focus on providing best life for current occupants, but neuter if non-endangered species?

@@hoppas77 how about checking out the wildcat sanctuary in Minnesota they got a great KZbin channel as well as a website and you can catch up on Dash there. I believe that he's still alone in the enclosure but I think his mom is right next door so if there's ever an opportunity they can safely put cats together they will but if they can't they won't they're really responsible at that sanctuary. Omg such a cute video! When he was a cub and couldn’t open his eyes crying I wanted to cry myself so adorable! 🥺 When he became a kitten and could walk I wanted to pick him up and cuddle him, when he could go outside I wanted to run around and play with him when he was full grown I wanted to spoil him with all kinds of toys and food! It’s truly amazing to see the transition and innocence of life in just 1 year Dash is such a beautiful and amazing boy! 🙂 Thank you for saving and caring for these cats I can rest easy now knowing there are people out there saving and raising these creatures! ☺️

I totally get why people would want pet tigers. When I was 6-7, I thought the cubs were precious. However, it’s not fair for the animal to live a domestic life that it’s not ready for. It’s a sad truth that tigers will very likely go extinct in the wild in the near future, and will only exist in captivity 😞

Tigers already show some degree of a friendly approach to humans. They are also not eating us unless they are very sick (like lacking theeth to cut rougher skin of other animals). I believe they are friendly and cute, though they tend to be loners as their preferred lifestyle. I think saving them is more of a priority than domestication. Not so many of them are left in the wild.
