Its also a good thing they thought about cupling male with a female, as two male hipos would not only pose a risk to each another but it would also not allow them to be reintoduced into the wild that eazily, plus now they just find a good spot without anny hipos and relase the pair there, they whould mate and repopulate said area a bit faster than realising single male or two males, (also for those of you who consider this just a basic strategy yes you are correct thats what you should alway do and we see most of the time, key word being most hence why the whole thing is worth noting)

Having that "friend" no matter the species is more important than people realize for any animal growing up in a distressed situation. Such a wonderful story to see with a great and happy ending for both.
@StefanC1232 жыл бұрын
Togetherness welds together. It is not a friendship by choice. 3 animals are kept in small cages, tell me how they could not make a "friendship". It is rather that or people will hold them alone. And especially young animals understand that they cannot be alone.
@s2ffitness4022 жыл бұрын
The same could be said about people... We're social creatures, not meant to be alone. It's much easier to manage or overcome distressing situations if you have someone in your corner. And my prayer and wish is that everyone in this world finds themselves blessed with at least one good friend and especially when they need it most. May you never walk the road of life alone, take others for granted or be taken for granted. 💗

Oh my gosh. That sheep being a friend is so cute!!! Its like how my cat needs my dog to attend vet appointments, or even be in the car really. Without her he pees, vomits, screams, and stays stressed for days after. With her, he gets a little annoyed while actively in his carrier and meows angrily every few minutes. As soon as he gets home, he takes a nap and he's fine. At home, he calls her across the house to make her watch him eat, drink and use the litter box, he begs for her to be in his catio with him. The cat has an emotional support dog, who is a herder, so she was happy to be given a job taking care of someone.

I never thought I'd see these 2 giant species grow up together! This is incredible! I've always love rhinos and was unsure about hippos because i've heard some horrific things they do but when you realize the purpose of it, you get a newfound appreciation for them. Especially when they grow up as social and happy as this

@@Marlene55M Idk, the hippo herd (hippos travel in groups) is known for sometimes killing their young. The reason they do this is thought to be when they're overpopulated or struggling with a form of illness. But regardless of the reason they'll straight up purposely kill their young. That's definitely something that the vast majority of humans don't do. Unless you count abortion, but that's a whole other can of worms to get into.

That's so sweet and important to see the conservation work behind it. It's so crucial to save both rhinos and hippos species. Our crew recently filmed a project that aims to save the northern white rhino, but the biggest challenge is that there are only two females left.
@michaelwalker78602 жыл бұрын
Why do we have to save rinos.... why do we have to save any animal? It's a ledgit question. Nature will simply find something else to fill the niche in a few thousand years that's how evolution works. I've never understood conservation of species nature is constantly changing and fixing itself. Life goes on why do we act like we are better? We are also just animals and in a few thousand years something will replace us. You think the dinosaurs didn't hunt specific species nah they didn't care and lived life why wont you environmentalists let us live life. Let us take the damn horn and enjoy being the dominant life form of this planet. At the end of the day all yall care about is ignoring your predatory instincts because you think your better. You have never eaten something you killed and it shows.
@rei_cultist2 жыл бұрын
How would you save it then ? If there are two females, what would you do ? Just curious
@michaelwalker78602 жыл бұрын
@@rei_cultist like I said why do we have to save it. In a thousand years another animal will evolve to fill the same ecological niche. Nature has never been stable but always recovers. Do you know how many mass extinctions earth has had and every time recovers. Life will go on, quit making us suffer for nothing the earth has always and will always be fine.

@@Frecklefart-90 well humans are starving in Africa while money goes to protecting a giant pig with a horn in the same country... I would say people suffer yes.
