My grandmother used to make ornaments but hers were those old thread ornaments and they were always my favorite. I cherished them. Unfortunately, my mother was not as … sentimental, and she got rid of most of them after my grandmother passed away. I was able to save a couple of them, but I always said one day I will make my own ornaments to pass down to my kids, and their kids and so on. These designs are perfect, with a good sealer afterwards they would be able to hold up to heritage use. Thank you for helping me make one of my life time dreams come true!❤️💕

OMG this is one of the most precious comments I've ever read! I'm touched. Yes! Making ornaments can be a perfect art that can be handed down for generations. It has that special holiday handmade feeling that kids and grandkids will appreciate : ) All the best!

I am now finishing 8 of these beautiful baubles. They gleam next to the Christmas tree, Thank you for sharing. I am new to this. My second 4 look better than my first 4. I am working on the 2019 (I believe) bauble as well. I have had to sacrifice a Christmas bulb to attempt that one. Now I want the applicator bottles. They seem easier than the other tools I bought from The Dotting Center.

Haha! yeah it won’t work without a rose sticker... Why don’t I have tape? What kind of crafty person is sans tape? It doesn’t make any sense but I’d better figure it out before Christmas otherwise all the gifts will be wrapped with duct tape, chewing gum, and rose stickers.

Sooo beautiful!! I got supplies to try it but the paint I had was too thick. I thinned it with some Floetrol but then got it too thin. I see you used Folk Art brand, did you use it straight from the bottle or did you need to thin yours?

I used it straight from the bottle. Folk art multi surface paint usually works. Floetrol is a great thinning medium. That should get you there 👍

Hello Rachel-- I am having a hard time finding the different types of rhinestones you are using. All of the ones I look at are either too big or too small, especially those horse-eye ones for your beautiful Christmas ornaments. Can you recommend a source? Even Amazon seems to be hard to tell what sizes/colors/shapes are in the packages.

Very pretty. I love this ornament. Thanks for the tip about purchasing the rhinestones kit for nails vs swarofskis. I know how expensive the crystals are !! Have you tried stickers or liquid pearls for the paint drops? Most of my ornaments are hand made. There are only a few that are store bought and they are the ones that I bought as insperation for my handmade ones !!
