Little fun fact: Both characters steal each other's iconic lines. Broly says at the start, "You wouldn't like me when I'm angry," which is Hulk's famous bit. Shortly after, Broly calls Hulk a monster, to which Hulk responds, "No...the Devil!" Which was an iconic line from the original Broly movie and was often associated with the character.

From what I have seen, most people agree they actually massively overhyped Hulk to make this seem close. Apparently that universe Hulk destroyed was fairly tiny, and he rarely actually reaches anywhere near universe destroying power. Meanwhile even the older and weaker Broly could destroy galaxies.

Many had problems with Hulk's "immortality" and how Broly was able to surpass it, but there're two characters from Dragon Ball Z that although weaker than Broly were capable of the exact same immortality: Cell and Buu. Cell and Buu were capable of withstand incredible amounts of power and performed kamikaze attacks that left them almost destroyed, but if there's a single trace of them, they are capable of regenerating their bodies - Cell was able to survive his attack and his core survived which regenerated him to his Super Perfect Form, but in the end he was destroyed by Gohan; and Majin Buu survived every kind of ki based attack, including the destruction of a planet, only to be completely killed by Goku's Spirit Bomb. If you consider these two examples, then the concept of Hulk's immortality shown here is basically the same. Still, the ending I admit I didn't like how non-explain they made.

Why mentioning DB feats of immortality and regeneration and comparing it to the Hulk? It doesn't make sense, not only because the universes are different (duh), but the situations are also kind of different, by their logic Hulk dying is fine I guess. But the problems come when you actually start to scale Hulk, like, I'm pretty sure the nerve/brain thing or whatever is not a thing anymore with Hulk, or even it's inconsistent with other Hulk previous feats, other problem would be how they scale both Hulk and Broly, since both characters are beyond infinite universal, top tier power scailers for both verses disagreed with the results and scailing, I think even some Death Battle writer thought their scailing was kinda bad

Also his base power is unknown because its his base power that keeps increasing with no limit. then just multiply that by 50 because like it or not Legendary Supersaiyan by every standard officially is still X50 because its just Super saiyan (they legit did away with the "legendary" part of the name because its a title not a form) They even mention this countless times in the manga and anime where Goku and Vegeta can turn into the Legendary Super Sayain way before broly was a thing and they clearly ret-conned calling Broly that in the new movie. All that matters is that the Base power is vastly more then the rest because thats where it matters. In short his Base level is greater then SSG goku (which can't be calculated correctly because no one can sense it and there's no rules for it just feats) and Just multiply that by 50 when he goes ssj.

They noted in the episode that Hulk requires some element of his physical form to regenerate from, and that the most impressive version, the Maestro regenerating from a skeleton, took years of passively absorbing gamma radiation to achieve. Cell, by contrast, only requires a single cell to survive to regenerate almost instantly, and Buu doesn't even need that. As long as he has energy left, Buu can come back from being vaporized entirely.

Just so you know the new Broly dosen't have that ptsd of the word "Kakarot." Buts he's also just a much better character than the older version since he isn't a gaint baby. Also you were a little mixed up with Hulks immortality. He dosen't come back forever immune to what killed him the last time (that's Doomsday), so you could just continue to rip his head off, but it wouldn't really matter because he would just come back. Also they may not have directly said that Hulk might not have overpowered the one below all, but they did show you the exact image they used when he said he'd only be gone for about a minute.

This felt pretty 1 sided in my opinion. I mean Z Broly was strong enough to casually wipe out galaxies and Super Broly, even just in base form, is one an entire different level. There was just no way Hulk was gonna close the power difference before getting overwhelmed himself. Still this fight is awesome and still another favourite of mine - Just clarification but new Broly doesn't hate Goku. In fact at the end of the movie they're pretty much buddies. With Goku even letting him call him by his Saiyan name

Death Battle fucks up a lot of things, they also give a lot of weird out of context feats that sometimes sound greater than what they really were. They fused and then wanked a BUNCH of different versions of the Hulk and put him so far beyond what he could actualy accomplish to make this "seem" a reasonable fight in the beggining, even though this monstrous amalgam wouldn't even be on the level of SSJ God Goku in Battle of Gods. A Goku that is literally hundreds of times weaker than Goku at the end of Super.

5:27 Actually, and here's a scary fact here: Hulk didn't become the Worldbreaker by abandoning Banner. Rather, Hulk amd Banner, as the Green Scar, were one. As such, the Worldbreaker only came about because Hulk AND BANNER both felt such earth-shattering Rage, Despair and Hatred all at once, that it brought Hulk into Critical Mass. And to give you an idea how strong Worldbreaker Hulk (or Hulk at Critical Mass) was: he created Gamma earthquakes that tore the island of Manhattan to pieces... by walking. Yes, simply him putting one foot in front of the other created huge shockwaves enough to turn ALL OF MANHATTAN into rubble. Which, yes, means that Worldbreaker Hulk is roughly on par or even greater than The Rumbling from Attack on Titan. Like no joke, Hulk is the size of a TICK compared to a Wall Titan and yet yielded equal or greater physical power to at least THREE of them. By the way, if you are ever liquid enough in revenue, I highly recommend getting the Planet Hulk and World War Hulk omnibuses. The World War Hulk saga is bonafide perfection on inked paper; the closest thing Marvel has to a literary Epic.

so the thing about hulk having a healing advantage over broly, the DBZ Ki can heal people, to an extent, but the healing factor still has limits against immense power. the healing factor almost being unlimited shaped another battle result, Wolverine vs Raiden (X-men vs Metal Gear Rising). while some stunts Wolverine has shown in comic history are nothing short of broken, the context showed the true limits.

Oh boy... Im so excited to see you watch season 8. Some of the best episodes of the entire show, along with some of the best music. Widely considered the most consistently strong seasons of the entire show, with some of the best backing tracks, animations and voice acting, with only one episodes that's kinda been considered a dud... and even then it wasn't even that bad. This episodes song was called "Ikari", which translates to "Rage" in Japanese... fitting. Id actually really enjoy seeing you react to the tracks of Death Battle, and even some of Brandon Yates' commissions. He does much of the music for the show and does fan commissions, all of which are insane, my favorite being "Will of the Drill", a track for an MU I SERIOUSLY hope happens on the show: Kyle Rayner vs Simon the Digger.

The new Dragonball Super Broly and the old Dragonball Z Broly are entirely different characters in terms of backstory, personality and lore. The new Broly's backstory essentially involves King Vegeta deeming him too much of a danger for his own bloodline, as Baby Broly was shaping up to be many times more powerful than King Vegeta's son (a.k.a. Vegeta himself). Therefore, after ordering Broly's execution via stranding Broly on a hostile planet. Broly's Father Paragus would join him on that planet later on (basically just in time to avoid being caught up in Planet Vegeta getting Frieza'd), and in blind hatred, Paragus effectivley tried to raise Broly as a killing machine so that they may one day get their revenge on King Vegeta. In his time on the planet however, Broly basically grew up without any sort of social interaction, developing anger issues due to his father's abuse, but an otherwise innocent personality due to his lack of interaction. Basically, the new Broly has no problem with Goku/Kakarot, and has no real trigger words, instead Paragus effectivley uses a shock collar on Broly instead, and that is what triggers his rage. In essence, Broly is the protagonist of the new Broly movie, instead of the villain of the story, and they pretty much fixed every problem that people had with old Broly if you ask me.

Not like Doomsday. Hulk regenerates from whatever killed him, however it killed him. That is: if he is melted - his body doesn’t just pop out of a green puddle of purple pantsed hulk goo. No. His body reconstitutes itself out of said puddle. So he needs access to all of his bits to regenerate. Which is why when he had* once been cut into several pieces, each part was stored in a separate jar to keep his healing factor from allowing them to come together and heal. Like you saw his head do in the Death Battle. Doomsday dies of a peanut allergy. Comes back literally unable to die from a peanut allergy ever again. …. See? Different. They never said anything about Hulk's healing factor being like Doomsday's, because it isn't. Hulk's simply heals whatever wound killed him, that's not the same as becoming immune to it. The importance of the hypothalamus to Hulk's healing factor was not only emphasized greatly in the analysis of this episode, it was one of the biggest parts of Hulk's last episode too. So vaporizing Hulk would absolutely put him down, like they said. And like they also said, that's what happens at the end of almost all Dragon Ball fights anyway. They also never said anything about Hulk scaling to The One Below All, just that he thunderclapped him away. There has been discussion about this fight, but only because a lot of people had Hulk as way stronger than he was shown here, but never with very good arguments as to why. This result is for all intents and purposes correct still, despite me rooting hard for Hulk

Yah, I've seen a few of those debunk videos and a lot of their points don't add up. The one I'll link below tries to argue that the Marvel universe is infinite in scale, thereby Hulk's universe mulitiplier would be far larger than Broly's. If you actually read the displayed scans though, the wording isn't super specific to the actual size of the universe (Ex. "The edge of the universe is BLANK light years away"), and mostly illustrates the surroundings of certain characters as "infiite voids". I think you got Hulk’s kind of regeneration and death proofing confused with Doomsday. Who Hulk also lost to in Death Battle. Basically, Broly’s power could overpower God Goku/Vegeta (red hair) and his super saiyan got to Blue level and higher raising as time went on. In comparison to Broly being around Ssj2 in his original movie. I thought you skipped the Beerus battle for spoiler reasons! (Also I brought up both Beerus and Hulk because I knew this fight was going to happen in my last MHA comment.) No Beerus was NOT trying when he fought Goku. Actually Broly’s new base in the canon story is on par with ssj Goku and Vegeta, his Ikari form was stated to be on par with ssjb, which is proved in their fight, then Broly goes ssj on top of Ikari (that’s why his ssj form was so strong, Broly’s ssj form is nothing special) he got a 50x boost, making him 50x that of blue Goku and Vegeta, that’s why he was owning their ass, and then he proceeded to completely merge ssj with Ikari to get that green haired form/full power ssj, so you see in the canon story, Broly doesn’t possess Lssj but is still way way way stronger than his Z counter part

While the punching sound effects can be better for the fight, Broly should be speaking gibberish at best after transforming into Super Saiyan, I don't agree with them saying Z Broly and Super Broly are the same character (one's a gentle giant and the other is a genocidal maniac), and I don't agree with the verdict, this is still a good episode. Ikari (the fight song) is a banger (even though it sounds more like the Broly song than Hulk vs Broly), I love them using there some of their most well known phrases against one another (Hulk's don't get me angry line and Broly's devil line), the effects are awesome, and the beginning and ending are some of my favorites in the whole show. All I'm gonna say for next season is that it's gonna be a roller-coaster.

That's the thing about DBZ/DBS characters. The powerscaling in the Dragonball universe is downright absurd, to the point that there are very few beings from other universes that could even hope to compete. For instance, Nappa, one of the very first (and ultimately weakest) villains in DBZ with a power level of about 8,000 would very likely still be far beyond literally any character from the Naruto universe, including Madara. Even in early DBZ, most major characters were at least planet-buster level. And by the time of the Tournament of Power in Super, there were a ton of galaxy and universe buster level characters.

I just wanna point out they low balled Broly. True goku's base in Super is equal to God(he does end up getting stronger through training overtime but no exact numbers) however after he fought Hit in the Universe 6 vs Universe 7 arc he went from barely matching Hit with a x10 multiplier stacked on top of Blue(honestly he would've lost due to the strain alone) to later tying with hit in just Blue. In short he got AT LEAST 10 times as strong after that fight so it would be only fair to assume Broly's strength would be 10 times the number they gave, thus widening the gap even more.

Don't know if you'll see this or if you've already learned the difference, but I wanted to explain the 2 different Broly's and Kale. Firstly, I'm gonna say canon in Dragon Ball is a bit iffy and weird, as even the creator sees everything made by the companies with the rights to his product as canon to their own timelines or dimensions, but for the sake of simplicity I'm gonna use canon the way fans tend to use it, even if it's not necessarily correct. So there's 4 Broly movies, the first 3 are connected and aren't canon. That's the Broly you know, the one who hates Goku. The 4th movie isn't connected to the other 3 and is canon. In it Broly has a completely different backstory, isn't evil, and has nothing against Goku. In fact in the 4th movie he didn't even know Goku existed until meeting him and being forced to fight him by his father and Frieza. He also is a good guy now. In a sense Z Broly, which is the version from the first 3 movies and was made during Dragon Ball Z, and Super Broly, which is the version from the 4th movie and was made during Dragon Ball Super, are 2 completely different characters with different motivations, different power levels, different personalities, but somewhat similar designs and the same name. As for Kale and why she's important, she's a canon character from Dragon Ball Super who was created before Super Broly and has a form that looks and functions almost exactly like Broly's Legendary Super Saiyan form. She was basically supposed to be a female Broly, but she also wasn't a villain. Speaking of the forms, Z Broly's form is called Legendary Super Saiyan, as you already know, but Kale and Super Broly's forms are called Super Saiyan Berzerk. They look exactly the same, but it's been shown that you can control Berzerk, changing the look to be less bulky and to get your pupils back, but also to not be as reckless and have complete control similar to regular Super Saiyan. Something that was never shown with the original Legendary form. It's honestly all a bit of a confusing mess, but yeah.

Yah, although the ending is a bit of an anti-climax, this is still one of my favourite fights DB has done in recent years. And while Hulk's immortality is pretty broken (I actually guessed he would win because of it), their explanation for how Broly could get around it makes sense to me. Remember, immortality is not the same as invicibility; Being immortal means you won't die of old age, but it doesn't neccesarily mean you can't die from anything else. It's that concept coupled with the inconsistency in Hulk's strength (IE the times he's been forced into Banner and bested by far weaker beings), AND how there's no reliable way to gauge the limits of Super Saiyan Blue or Gogeta, that ultimately convinced me of Broly's win.

I agree with the results, but I like the other Hulk Death Battle better, Hulk vs Doomsday just sold the pure destruction with the animation and sound of the impacts, and the music in that won was more hyped than what they used for this one, don't get me wrong I like the song they made for this battle but it's more soothing than adrenaline pumping. Plus the "I'll kill you" line from Broly bothers me, he's in Berserker mode he shouldn't be able to form sentences, they should have just had him do Broly's rage scream or something

Yeah, that season had a couple of egregious examples of them naming a feat and not giving the context for it. The Hulk's defeating the One Below All feat in this one, and Red Hood breaking Supergirl's grip in Winter Soldier vs Red Hood. They even said, "Don't take Jason breaking Supergirl's grip out of context." Dude, you just told us about this feat out of context! Thankfully, they moved away from cheap stuff like out of context feats in the next season.

I talked about Hulk, I'll keep Broly brief. Old Broly (aka Legendary Super Sayian Broly) isn't the same as DBS Broly. Old Broly isn't canon. Kale isn't a "Legendary Super Sayian" her Super Sayian form is completely different. Its called **Super Sayian Berserker**. DBS Broly isn't a Legendary Super Sayian whatsoever, he has a completely different story it's like they combined the two characters as if they were the same. DBS Broly doesn't have to constantly leak out energy. **All Sayians gets stronger as they fight and are strengthen by anger and rage. Its not unique to Broly. ** The whole Super Sayian A type shit was from a random V-Jump (jmost popular anime magazine) which isn't even written or approved Toriyama or anyone relevant. **Side note: They also used Super Exciting Guide which is also not the best guide to use. Daizenshuu is a guide written by Toriyama idk why they don't use it.** They downplayed the characters because they downplayed the Dragon Ball cosmology. DB universes aren't finite in size. So trying to give it a linear number to compare to outs doesn't make sense. Lastly DBS Broly's final gorm is called Full Power Super Sayian. Also Gogeta Blue didn't try until the very end where he about to kill him before he got saved. Goku and Vegeta also didn't go all out. No Kaioken, no Ultra Instinct, no SSB Evolution. It was really out of character to leave and fuse the way they did.

What Death Battle not only didn't mention, but even tried to pretend wasn't true at all, was that Doomsday *cannot* become immune to blunt damage. He has been beaten to death multiple times, at least twice by Kryptonians. So yes, Hulk can kill Doomsday.
