Okay, here's what's up: the audio file is called "So long KING Bowser", and Charles Martinet said it was King Bowser, but the clean audio rip from the big Nintendo source code leak last year is so definitely Gay Bowser. My headcanon is that it was SUPPOSED to be King Bowser, but Martinet said Gay Bowser as a joke one take and some funny man made Gay Bowser the take used.

The Sonic timeline, unlike Mario, has a definite timeline. However it’s... not the most consistent... For one thing the series takes place on Earth but in Sonic CD there’s a small planet that is never mentioned after that game yet Amy and Metal Sonic remember that game in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes. The first Sonic Adventure is my favorite Sonic game and gave a lot of character development for Tails and Amy, then the future games completely disregards it and no one seems to remember Gamma despite him risking his life to save Amy and dying at the end of his story against his brother Beta. Such an emotional sendoff and they just replace him with Omega in Sonic Heroes like nothing happened. The moon is destroyed yet is clearly still visible in Shadow the Hedgehog and onwards despite taking place after. Speaking of which Shadow was presumed dead after Sonic Adventure 2 and they even question how he survived in Sonic Heroes but in Shadow the Hedgehog which is before regaining his memory somehow has the others being “Oh hey! Long time no see!” Then there’s the Sonic the Hedgehog game from 2006 which somehow had Blaze in the same world as Silver’s which is in the future of Sonic’s world *despite Blaze being a princess from another dimension around the same time period as Sonic’s world as seen in Sonic Rush!* Also due to the events of the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog being erased from time at the end of the game Sonic and Silver don’t actually meet until the Sonic Rivals games. And people think the Zelda timeline is confusing!

Francisco Arzápalo Zapata that video is so wrong. Its full of mistakes & head canons. Like he said that Super Sonic has only has been damaged by two things, but fails to mention that Super Sonic also can be damaged by the final boss in Sonic Advance 2. Which is a random robot build by Eggman. And not to mention don't understand the rules of Death Battle. Like he makes a big deal that they used the Sonic cartoon movie because the movie isn't canon. But the thing is that Death Battle will use every feat a character have unless it contradicts what is canon, while the movie isn't canon the feat Death Battle used isn't contradicting.

I seem to recall it tipping the other way from the comic inclusions. So long as Mario can react to Sonic, this fight was in Mario’s hands with that INSANE arsenal. Also I seem to recall something about Mario being unable to use power ups stacking or couldn’t use one immediately after another. Something I’ve NEVER seen in Mario games and ordinarily he hops from 1 to another no problem. That was the 1st fight. Speed does indeed kill, but if the opponent is stronger, tougher, and can react, then the speed can’t put them down. And it’s just waiting until the moment that the reactions kick in to employ the rest. Which I like that approach.

The one thing I really disagree with about this is that they didn't take into account that Sonic's ultimate form has a time limit like Mario's does, but Sonic can add additional time to his ultimate form by gathering rings, and since he's fast enough to get away from Mario in long enough to go find more rings, I don't see how Mario could've survived it long enough to make it run out.

Mario had bottomless gloves from one of his games, making it so that his items are not consumed when used, thus meaning that while the super star has limited time, Mario does NOT have a limited number of them. As long as he keeps using the stars, he can't run out. Sure Sonic can go find more rings, but Mario doesn't have to go find anything to keep his form up. Doesn't hurt that Mario could just, reset the battle to the very start, stop time, and turn Sonic to gold before he could even go super...

The Bottomless Gloves were introduced as a reward for doing a time consuming task, can't remember what though. Probably getting a certain amount of collectables. It's sort of like the infinite mana ring in KH3 for getting all the hidden Mickeys or the most expensive badges Merlow sells for Star Pieces. Put in the effort, get a good reward

The one thing that makes this battle hard to stomach is the difference in Mario's reaction and movement speed. Even if we are saying that Mario is too durable, he also isn't tagging Sonic with a hit. This is also ignoring the stupid example they used to calc Mario's strength. A level clear cutscene, really!?

Retry Clock + Bottomless Gloves are the real reasons Mario would be able to win. He could learn all of Sonic's moves throughout the fight and know how to counter them. He could purposefully lose while learning all of Sonic's moves, the Retry Clock (which activates automatically upon Mario's defeat) activates to the start, and now Mario knows all the moves that are thrown at him and know when and how to best counter to be able to defeat Sonic. And, given the effect of the Bottomless Gloves, he'd never run out so that every time he did lose, the Retry Clock would activate again, allowing Mario to learn, adapt, and overcome until he eventually won. Sonic has no such advantage. I don't know of any piece of equipment Sonic has that allows him infinite access to his items or be able to retry an infinite number of times. Even if we use the video game lives system, the fact that Mario has the Bottomless Gloves, able to get a 1-up mushroom at anytime, infinitely means there's no way that Sonic can beat him permanently as he'll soon find every move countered by a fatal blow since the only one aware of the fight restarting is Mario.

If Speed is all you have going for you, and your opponent is durable enough to endure and adapt, it’s not all that helpful anymore. Also, fun trivia time! * Sonic’s ability to survive planets exploding was because of his super forms. His base power is nowhere close to Mario’s. *Sonic actually DOES know how to swim. Well, sort of. In Sonic Colors, Sonic can jump indefinitely when underwater. So, I guess he can swim… * That rainbow Hyper Sonic form you saw Sonic turn into was actually only ever used in one game (Sonic 3 & Knuckles). After that, Sega dropped the concept and stuck with just Super Sonic. I think the reason behind this was because they didn’t want to risk the possibility of continuously introducing new forms and making the older ones obsolete. There have been a few other games where Sonic got a new form (see Darkspine Sonic and Excalibur Sonic from the storybook titles) but they’re one hit wonders. They probably weren’t shown here because they’re pretty much Super Sonic with new (and very epic looking) coats of paint, and Sonic only got them under specific circumstances in the stories of those games. (Excalibur Sonic required outside help to transform and Darkspine Sonic actually happened on accident.)

Ya got to learn to pay attention and remember. I know someone else in the comments said this, but the only reason Sonic survived a planet explosion was because of the super form. Though you also shouldn’t overestimate speed. Stop being a speed (the word not the guy) simp. Also still, neither Kirby or Mario are at the god level. They didn’t exactly have universe powers, even though Mario did happen to survive a galaxy leveled explosion which is something comparable to a Big Bang, although it was weaker. Yeah they didn’t mention that Mario survived a black hole Big Bang thing.

Sure that could mean its faster than what exe could do, but it could also be slower. It also depends what is meant by speed, in this case its travel speed. Things just start to become super complicated when you include this kind of stuff. Does immeasurable speed even count? If your speed exists outside of the concept of speed itself, is it even speed anymore?

Well one thing if you mean why they didn't bring up Frontiers is because this death battle was over 5 years ago, and Frontiers came out in 2022, and yes Sonic has fought someone with reality warping powers, but also remember it's definitely likely and possible too scale Mario too some of Wario's durability as well as they've fought alot of times before and are both one of the seven star children, and Wario is capable of surviving the Black Jewel blowing up which completely destroyed the dimension Wario was in so he's no slouch either, really its always gonna be hard too pin down a true victory when new material and games will always be coming out, giving new abilities and feats

The best way to describe Mario VS sonic is that it's a diet Popeye VS Goku. Sure, Sonic has a lot of insane feats of fighting godlike of beings, but so does mario, the only difference is that mario looks a lot goofier when he does it and is usually in his base form. I'm not saying Mario has straight up toon force, but Wario does, to the point where he can't even canonically die because he's an actual cartoon character, yet Mario can still beat him in a fight, so even if he ran out of super form power ups before sonic did, he'd still be able to hold his own.

I think that death battle made this rematch because they got an outcry from Mario fans saying things like: "Mario has better games therefore he's stronger" I think Death Battle should just face the facts, just because Marios games are more consistent in quality doesn't mean he's stronger in universe, and while he does have that castle lifting thing at the least Sonic can match Marios power through momentum because even if you're physically weak if you punch someone at light speed or even the speed of sound it'll still kill them no matter how physically strong you are. Also, Hyper Sonic can probably take on anyone Nintendo has except for maybe Kirby.

Sorry for skipping your last video, but like I said before, Natsu vs Ace is the only Death Battle I actively cannot stand and despise due to massive misinformation, misrepresentation, and just an incredibly boring premise. But now I’m back to comment on every video once again! Here we are, the big 100! There’s 51 more episodes to check out at the time of writing this comment, so you’re 2/3 through the whole series! Woo! Go you! Things definitely take a big upswing in terms of production from now on, and the best part? Now that Wiz and Boomstick are animated we can get visual comedy! There’s some awesome slapstick animations of the two! Now onto this battle, this is one of the fights I do ultimately disagree with, but I think that it’s a lot closer than the hardcore Sonic fans would have you believe. Both are essentially cartoon characters, with all the power and absurdity that implies, and Mario has had a longer history with a lot more power ups, and it’s not really a question that he’s physically stronger and more durable. That said I don’t think the speed feats they scale Mario to should be taken at face value (for instance as electricity he moves at the same speed as sparkies, the electric ball enemies, which are shown to not move anywhere near the speed of natural electricity). In the end I think he could get lucky and tag Sonic with a devastating blow semi-often, but more often than not Sonic should be able to take him down through attrition, death by a thousand cuts sort of thing. This is the most beautifully drawn of the hand drawn animations in their history. There aren’t a ton of hand drawn battles, but this one stands atop the pile. Ultron vs Sigma is a fun battle, though far from my favorite. I’m a huge superhero nerd, and a decent Mega Man fan, but Ultron is just.. ugh. I hate him. I do. He’s in my top 5 least favorite comic book villains ever. But that doesn’t stop the battle from being enjoyable to me. You’ll learn a lot about how the movies are nowhere near the total BS levels of the comics. XD

The Mario series does have lore but has almost no continuity. It’s there but it’s not like you could say where the Luigi’s mansion series, Paper Mario series or Mario and Luigi series takes place in the main timeline. In fact the American version of Super Mario Bros. 2 is a reskin if a completely unrelated game (though it did introduce the franchise’s first trans character Birdo.) Though there are parts of the timeline that you can definitely confirm, for example any game with Bowser Jr. couldn’t have happened Super Mario Sunshine and any appearance of Rosalina couldn’t have happened before Super Mario Galaxy onwards. Not to mention the time traveling aspect with the baby characters. There’s also the baby Rosalina paradox since she is blond despite being a redhead as a child in Super Mario Galaxy and not gaining blond hair until after she became a space goddess.

Honestly, a LOT of people (myself included) considered this to be one of DB's biggest blunders. While a clash between Game Mario and Game Sonic is indeed closer than one might initially think, it's still in Sonic's favor. The logic from the first take on the bout is more accurate: their powerups neatly counter each other, and Sonic is simply faster. No amount of "reactionary speed" is going to overcome that gap in actual speed. Though, there is a different DB that's even more wrong somehow. Don't know if you've seen it yet, but suffice it to say that one of the combatants basically had the power of a _God_ and the other didn't, yet they gave it to the latter.

My only problem with this fight is that Sonic should've won for one particular reason: Mario's invincibility star lasts around 10 seconds, Sonic's super and hyper forms last at least 50, unless if the time between Sonic's transformation and Mario's use of the star was exactly 40 seconds (which it definitely wasn't), then there's no way that they both would've ran out at the same time.

I do think Sonic should've won this battle, like if we take what the Chaos Emeralds power levels, who knows how powerful the Super Emeralds could produce with power wise, Mario on the other hand has invisible powerups can't even survive poison and lava. Now with the introduction of Sonic Frontiers, I think they should redo this death battle. Plus he has other forms like Dark Super, Darkspine, and Excalibur forms. Also Mario has some of the same power ups with different looks with the same gimmick, Sonic also has been proven to do chaos control more then once, plus the stopwatch only appeared in Super Mario Bros 2, which was a dream adventure by the way, so it really doesn't count. Also Sonic has gone against different foes unlike Mario, and the paper and Mario and Luigi series aren't cannon.

@@Jojo41323 Super Sonic is invisible though, the only things that were able to hurt Super Sonic was Dark Gia a planet destructive being and Soloris a forth dimensional God that can control time and space, that is something we haven't seen in a Mario game, plus unlike Mario's invisible powerups, Sonic's super forms can survive lava and Poison, hack even the fire shield and invisible shield can survive that. And since Death Battle included Hyper Sonic, it is cannon to the Sonic franchise. The Mario and Luigi series does take place in Mario's world, but it's an alternate timeline, so no Mario and Luigi isn't truly canon. Also I didn't say anything about the Werehog form, I know Sonic has dark super, Darkspine, and Excalibur under his belt thanks to the hubworld in Sonic X Minecraft.

what pisses me off the most is the Hyper Sonic Vs Super Star Mario part, Mario's star power up can last only 10 seconds, while Hyper Sonic can last 50 seconds at the minimum (it takes 50 rings to transform and you lose 1 ring per second while in the form) even with Mario using the star 10 seconds after Sonic turns hyper, Sonic would still have 30 seconds to beat the absolute shit out of Mario before turning back to normal

Before all of you sonic fans say anything, death battle was right, if sonic defeated solaris and time eater does not put him at universal and also for solaris, it took sonic,shadow AND silver to defeat solaris in their SUPER forms, not base which proves the point on why mario is stronger. The only big gap between these two is sonic's superior speed, but other than that, mario is superior in every way, his power ups also last longer than sonic's super form, for example the invincibility leaf.

Fun Fact Sonic from the Archie Comics(Archie Sonic)...in there he is a god. They actually made him so powerful they had to reboot the comic universe just to make him less powerful. Sonic became so powerful that legitimately FATE will always side with Sonic. There is a immortal mammoth in the series that once was supposed to be the biggest baddest feeling in the series, Sonic became so powerful it obsoleted the immortal mammoth. The immortal mammoth said in the series that he has to wait until Sonic grows old and dies in order for him to take over the world because fate itself falls in favor of Sonic 100% of the time. They made him also way too O.P. in his speed. He's so fast in the series that he makes most of the flash hero from the DC universe looks low.
