I noticed that a lot of Pokémon spin-offs are better than the main games (from what I played.) Don’t get me wrong I like the main games but sometimes I want a big story, to actually *be* Pokémon, or to be a *freaking warlord!* Legends: Arceus is probably the one exception and even then it plays more like a spin-off than a mainline title.

'Coliseum' and 'Gale of Darkness' were pretty nice too, designed to be completely different - a much more limited roster, it plays a lot more like a standard RPG.

Honestly, my favorite Pokemon spin-offs are Mystery Dungeon and Pokemon Conquest. It would actually be kind of cool if they could make a 3D remake of Conquest. I would definitely buy that.

@@BlackdragonTheShadow It’s a crossover of the Nobunaga’s Ambition series. Though Samurai Warriors does share the same characters since it’s based on the same era. They aren’t in Dynasty Warriors though as that’s a different point in history in an entirely different country.

Imagine an entire cave full of the Zubat evolution line or a forest full of the more "stabby" bug pokemon attacking a highly populated area. Countless flying types using hurricane or fire types burning fields. Pokemon are terrifying if used by people with dark intentions. 9:52 It's a whale pokemon. They could make it go all "Monstro" on passing enemy ships, guard Dim Sun controlled ports, terrorize humans living on the coast with potential tidal waves.

"Why would you keep all the gems in the same place?" I think they were using them as a power source for a shield (force field?) of sorts? That's why they battled the trio and beat them to get them back. Then they had to use them to deal with the shadow crystal.

Played through all 3 Pokemon Ranger games, though don't remember much of them to be honest ^^; Most memorable was that you could get a Manaphy Egg in the first one and send it to your 4th Gen game to hatch and that was the only way back then to get Manaphy. Second most memorable thing for me was that in the third game you could fly on Latias and Latios, as those are my favorite Pokemon^^ Now, the other spin-off series, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon... oh man. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky is THE BEST Pokemon game, at the very least as far as the story within the game is concerned. I would go as far as to say that it's one of the best stories in games I had ever played^^ Highly recommend giving that one a try, or even a playthrough^^

@@theduckgoesmoo emulators for those games can be a little more difficult due to requiring a stylus, but I’m sure there’s a way that you could make it work. Also Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky is an AMAZING game imo. It’s a dungeon crawler game where you become a Pokémon, and then go to stop crimes in a Pokémon world plagued by natural disasters and high crime rate. The music and story in that game is the best the Pokémon game’s have ever had.

@@savvythedivineyethuggable7493 there’s not really a “place to start” the mystery dungeon games of each generation are pretty standalone. The DX remakes are pretty good to start with story wise, because those games are in the same universe (I believe) as explorers of sky, which is the absolute best game in the dungeons series. Super Mystery Dungeon comes close to explorers, but explorers of sky is THE best

There’s an even weirder spin-off named Pokémon Conquest… it’s a turn based strategy game similar to Fire Emblem I.e you move your units to the specific target you want to fight but the trainers are based off of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms characters(or Dynasty Warriors) so you have these historic Japanese and Chinese generals using Pokémon to battle each other…

Toby Fox (creator of the game Undertale, and I will be VERY surprised if you HAVEN’T heard of Undertale) has made music for main line Pokémon games! He made the Battle Tower theme from Sword/Shield, and he’s made music for Scarlet/Violet that will be used in multiple places!

Team “Dim Sun’s” name is a spin on what state the sun is during a total solar eclipse, ergo how the sun looks when Darkrai’s dark powers could threaten the entire world. The spin-offs tend to be better because new games need to focus, on some level, on new Pokemon, new mechanics, etc. while spin-offs look at what exists and goes "any fun ideas we can do with what we already have?" Even when new mechanics are introduces in these spin-offs it is for the sake of that spark of what would be fun, unlike new mechanics in mainline games which often seem like the mechanic was thought of before anything else.

There are a lot of neat spinoffs, I would also recommend Crystal Clear if you haven't already heard of it. It's a ROMhack that someone took Pokemon Crystal and made it open world, with a lot of cool features so it's a coherent game and not a janky mess. Would definitely recommend.

I think you should check out TheAMaazing. In particular, his Maafia videos (yes, with two "a"), where he animated 2 different Mafia games between several KZbin animators. It'd be a good introduction to other animators who do videos similar to Jaiden's. He's actually collaborated with her before as well, though she's no featured in the Maafia videos.

Honestly, any Jaiden video within the last four or five years is really good. If you haven't already, I DO recommend the video "Why I Don't Have A Face Reveal". But that's just because it's a more serious video than her others and I do think it's important to have seen it.

Generation 5 onwards has Pokémon's best music. Even Generation 8, which was very divisive, is regarded as some of the best music in Pokémon. Legends Arceus has one particular track, though, that we can all point to as amazing.

Where did you hear that? The only theme from Gen 8 anyone seems to care about is the Gym Leader theme, and one song can't carry a while soundtrack. Although, you don't really hear anyone talk about Gen 6's soundtrack at all. Or about Gen 6 in general really.

@@kevinbell5674 Gen 6's soundtrack isn't paid much attention because they're songs with tons of buildup, they're all surprisingly long, but the battles those good songs play over are incredibly short if you forget to turn off the EXP Share. Like, Kalos's E4 and Champion themes are among the best in the series in my humble opinion, Xerneas and Yveltal share a really solid theme, and even the guitar remix of the wild battle theme is incredibly solid. And, with remakes in the mix, the Primal theme is incredible, Steven's new theme remix is just as intense as it deserves, Deoxys gets an incredible new remix, and Zinnia's battle theme is still occasionally played in Pokémon/Smash videos to this day as buildup for hype.

It’s pretty close between the 2nd and 3rd one for me, but I’m going with the 3rd one mostly because of the new mechanics (hidden Pokémon revealed by roaring, flying in real time on Latios/Latias, multiple Pokémon on one clear, etc)
