This episode was largely devoted to the talents of Sammy Davis Jr. and Ella Fitzgerald. After performing several solos, the legends got to sing this legendary duet. A famous moment on the Ed Sullivan show! Thank you for this video!

The First Lady of Jazz and Mr. Cool Cat. Over the years we have enjoyed may great singers and songstress, Eli immho, is one of the few who could do it all: sing, sang, story telling, phrasing, scat, and blow! She is one maybe 2 or 3 that I would say could be the "GOAT". She is the first "Diva"!

It brought joyful tears to my eyes to watch how much Ella Fitzgerald was enjoying herself. There was so much heart and delight in this performance. For me, it’s a blessing to behold -- one of those performances along with Sammy Davis, Jr's performance of Mr Bojangles -- that is seared in my soul.

Sullivan was the most "unracist" person on TV at the time. He always had Black (African American) acts on his show despite the fact that he was told there would be problems with broadcasters in the South..
