My love and I wandered into a wedding reception at the hotel we were stay at in Ireland! We sat in a corner near the two guitarists who were playing at the wedding. I guess they recognized our Boston accents, because before we knew it they began to play and sing sweet Caroline. The bride,s mum came over and we were great friends immediately. One of my happiest memories of our travels around the world.

Hey American, have you seen "The Wizard of Oz"? "Gone With the Wind"? Filmed over eighty years ago, they both look and sound like they were made yesterday, because the original camera negatives have yielded fantastic results thanks to talented technicians who digitally restored and remastered the original material, which fortunately was properly preserved. It's a myth to think that only new stuff looks good. And there's stuff made twenty or ten years ago that looks like crap today because it wasn't properly preserved.

I remember listening to his music in my uncles car. Now on my 50’s,these tunes always take me back to those times. I recently saw the broadway play based on his life and when the actor, who was amazing, sang this song, the whole audience got on their feet and sang along. Especially, the boom, boom, boom part. Summer 1970 in Germany, this song poured out from every hospitality establishment, every balcony, every vehicle. In Dec 1974 at Prince Charles Hospital Brisbane, a nurse played her favourite album and got patients recovering from chest operations humming along. Talk about good vibes! What a feast!

What would I give to go back there. I had no idea that life was the greatest life during those times. I've been listening to this era of music all evening. God, I miss those times of my life. I was dating a girl in high school and her family moved across country and we led seperate lives, but man I still think of her like it was yesterday.
