Tim - was a mixture of a novelty act, he knew he was entertaining and people found his voice funny as well as his personality. But anyone who knows about singing should be able to genuinely appreciate his skill, he had great control of his voice, his unique and haunting falsetto range, his lower baritone vocals and beautiful vibrato in his voice that gave it a shakey but great tone when he sang.

I met Tiny Tim (Herbert Kohrey) at a gig in New Bedford, MA. I'm 6' 2" tall, 130 lbs. He must have been 6 foot 8, 300 lbs. He was huge! Man, he was the ultimate showman. He sang patriotic songs. George M. Cohan's, You're A Grand Ol' Flag, Yankee Doodle Dandy, Give MY Regards To Broadway, Over There, America The Beautiful, God Bless America, Battle Hymn of the Republic,. . . He was on stage for over 2 hours with his little ukulele and his big personality. It was outdoors at a park fair, and the thousands of people there were captivated. My little sister Cathy knew him and introduced us. He had on a suit printed with newspaper articles about him. All showman! I heard later he died on a stage somewhere. Fitting end for the Legend of ☆Tiny Tim☆!

He was born in 1932 and passed away in 1996, at the age of 64. I consider him my favorite singer and admire him in every possible way, both for his talent and for his knowledge, character, kindness, and politeness. He was a living encyclopedia of songs from the 1910s to the 1940s, and thanks to him, I discovered many singers from the past (the ones he was most inspired by were Bing Crosby, Russ Columbo, Rudy Vallée, Al Jolson, Henry Burr, and Irving Kaufman). Not only did he know the melody and lyrics of numerous songs from that era, but he also mastered the singing style of each performer (he could magnificently replicate their voices and styles), as well as the record labels, the stories behind the songs, and much more. One of his main goals was to revive forgotten (and sometimes obscure) works, to the point where some songs he performed had become entirely unknown, and introduce them to the public. Unfortunately, for years, he was treated as a joke, mainly because of his unique appearance (after all, men with long hair were not common at all in the 1950s, to the point that he can be considered the first singer of the century to have long hair). He broke two world records: the first for the largest audience, as his wedding in 1969 set a record of 40 million TV viewers, the highest in history at the time, second only to the moon landing in 1970 and surpassing even Martin Luther King Jr.'s famous speech. The second record was for the longest time singing continuously, even though it wasn't recommended due to his fragile health caused by diabetes and heart problems. These long singing sessions and other strenuous efforts contributed to his passing in 1996. In the final years of his life, doctors warned him to stop performing, as it could lead to a heart attack. However, he ignored all recommendations and continued to sing and bring joy to people until the end of his life. On the day of his death, he already anticipated what was coming. He was performing a show, and his second-to-last song seemed like a farewell, one his wife had never heard him sing before. Right after that, to conclude the show, he sang "Tiptoe Through the Tulips," his most iconic song. Upon finishing, he suffered a heart attack on stage and slowly knelt down. His wife ran to him and cradled him in her arms as he passed away in her embrace. He did what he loved until the very end.
