This is the fine art of homemaking. Making a house cozy for the family, making wonderful meals and memories. Why do so many mom’s see it as drudgery? I’ve always enjoyed and taken pride in that role. 😊

It's not for all folks, some people would rather do something else with their time instead, haha. Though I gotta agree with you, transforming your space is always super enjoyable.

I would love to do more things like this, but who has the time? It’s less fun when it’s midnight and your body is screaming for sleep. But I couldn’t do it full-time either. I tried being a SAHM but I got so bored and lonely, I went back to work. I’m one of those who needs challenge to stave off boredom. That said, I sometimes envy those who can live a quiet life. Sounds so free of stress.

I think some moms see it as drudgery when they have to work 50 hours a week to afford rent. Doing a bunch of housework is hard when you're exhausted.
@margaretrosin78532 жыл бұрын
@@myoldmanbaby no, of course. After working 50 hours, anything else would be too much. I’m talking about a SAHM. It was always looked down on, like some archaic ideal from the 50’s. Raising your own kids and making a home. Cooking meals. You have to make sacrifices for it but I think it was well worth it.

I live in Portland, Oregon and every Autumn, I have my windows cleaned inside/out as well as the screens. My space in given a through cleaning with carpets shampooed. Then, I transform my bed into a haven with my 800tc sheets, several layers of belgian linen blankets and extra pillows. I even bring back my tray table positioned beautifully next to the bed, for my Chai Tea or a glass of off dry Riesling every evening. I like my body slightly warm, but the room air needs to be around 67 degrees. Autumn by far, is my favorite season.

The Elliot Homestead videos always relax and bring joy to my heart. Always have to pause and admire your beautiful kitchen wallpaper. This week I made a pot of hearty root vegetable stew and started lighting candles in the evening, a sure sign of fall in my home.

Your home is so cozy and warm to welcome in the season. I love to layer soft blankets on the furniture, light candles and sit by the fireplace. Also I cook comfort foods for chilly evenings and today I'm preparing a pot roast with mashed potaotes, carrots and yorkshire pudding. Fall and winter I love to bake breads, cinnamon and yeast rolls. For our Fall kitchen.. my husband and I live with our daughter n husband and four grands so I want them to feel cozy. So I light a candle or two. Add a bowl of apples n a pretty towel. Change aprons hanging up for Fall then bake bake bake all sorts of Fall things . Our kitchen table (wood) is filled with white dishes.. a wire pumpkin with candle in middle. I keep a stack of cloth napkins ( from you❤️) in a bowl that the grands seem to love to use. Nothing over fancy. Just comfort and listening and good food 🍁

Because we live in Florida, there will be no kitchen fires for us! But I do set out little pumpkins and gourds in a long wooden trencher on the table. Spice-scented candles are going. I bring out nutmeg nuts with a tiny grater and set it near the coffee maker, along with cinnamon sugar. I also put away the summery dish cloths and replace them with fall colored ones. Your "Reformation Feast" on the menu board sounds intriguing!

I live in a 27 ft. travel trailer, so I can't do much. I have a small oval galvanized bucket that I decorate for each season. It sits on the shelf above the sink in the kitchen window. In it I put Gourds/tiny pumpkins in the fall, evergreens/holly and pine cones, etc. in winter, Easter Eggs and spring flowers in the spring and Summer flowers and butterfly and dragonfly ornaments in the summer. Its small, but it makes me happy...I also have a collection of music to set the mood and many different essential oils that I pair with the season. Something to stimulate all the senses.

Autumn if my favourite season. Am I the only one that displays the picnic basket in the kitchen? Its the first thing I do to my kitchen in autumn. A visual reminder to pack it full and head out to enjoy the seasonal colours often. I smile just looking at that basket. 🙂 I take down the thermal lining behind our curtains that we use to keep the heat out all summer. I stock up on my casserole essentials like Marsala and bone broth. I use more bone broth that I can ever make. I switch out my seasonal cookbooks and decorative tea towels for autumnal still-life ones. The pasta machine definitely gets fixed to the benchtop for the season too. Your kitchen looks extra sweet with the addition of that cupboard, Shaye.
