Girl living in an area that is predominantly white sucks. The settle racism always finds a way to peak through. Its frustrating.... I literally had friends that would pull me to the side to “let me know when another black person was coming”, like literally grab me and my other black friend ONLY away from everyone else. Or tell me I’m not black because I’m considered “white” because I don’t talk black. And then whenever some of my friend get in their feelings they’d say racist things to other black people and expect me not to feel some type of way. They’ll say “no michelle not you. You’re not those people” like wtf.... you have to watch yourself for real.

Miranda Stephens girl that’s even the worst of it. I used to be called the N word all the time by white girls that didn’t like me just to get under my skin. Guys won’t wanna talk to me because I’m black. Also it sucked because Even my own people were telling me I wasn’t black enough because of how I talked. Like I struggled fitting in with because my skin with the whites, the blacks didn’t think haitian was black either, and actually the Latinos were the ones that were accepting of me. I can’t be in a predominantly white area and I need it to be mixed. So I completely agree with Thee Mel.

I once worked with a black girl named Latisha who went by Tisha and because of shortening her name and the way she talked she was once denied an apartment because the landlord thought she must be a fake person since she was "trying to be white". She said she got it from both sides, she was considered too black to be white and too white to be black. Even her mom accused her of acting white for wanting to go to college. She tried to keep a sense of humor about it but you could tell it bothered her.

The only shock is that she is so open and vocal about it.There are MANY black people, who want to be white but arent as vocal about it. Those black people are usually the once who force that ideology on to their children. Women and men like her are the starters of colorism. It's hard for a black child, that grows up in a household were women continously conform to whiteness/eurocentric beauty standards, to truly believe black is beautiful. And by black i mean beauty in their hair, noses, lips, eyes, skin EVERTPYTHANGGG and not just parts of it. And if you hate the culture you belong to then its impossible to love the people. The women is insecure about herself and has to protect her insecurities on to others

The thing is, even if if the clip is parody of a situation, a lot of what is being said has so much historical precedent. Wanting to move from Chicago to Iowa, does she think it’s an accident that it’s mostly white? Like in the 50’s when segregation wasn’t deemed legal in the government white people still found a way to segregate. They moved out of the cities, blocked POC from doing the same by denying them housing loans etc for being ‘high risk’ just because of their color. This made it so white people have had generations of home owners where POC didn’t and that home ownership means more money property tax etc for education which means better schools. The woman in the clip seems to think that black people just did this to themselves when there is both historical precedent and current issues that keep certain communities down and I think people in those communities probably internalize it as a problem with their ‘race’ when it’s so, so much more complex than that. This clip might be parody but people actually feel this way and it’s sad and stupid that people can’t see the bigger picture.

I don't know, I think there are two sides to this story. I have a White German professor who lived through the segregation era, and she seems real sweet and open, and she told us what happened when black people integrated into white neighborhoods. The story consisted of all the European whites moving out, as soon as it happened, but also her family being the only ones to stay. Resulting in, the black people vandalizing and harassing her family/home. It's sad. They finally moved when one followed her home, and based on what she was implying, or what I interpreted, was to rape or seriously injur her (she looked like she was almost in tears telling us this). Though she told us this story to remind us not to sterotype or generalize a race or nationality based on bad experiences, it opened my eyes that we are not all so innocent. That our race (black) have done somethings to cause the push back, subsequently adding onto the terrible racist messages that came with that time period. Anyway, I'm open to a discussion on this, thanks for reading this!

I agree with you with the melting pot statement. I don’t even want to be around ONLY blacks either. I liked MIXED. I like ALL men. 😂

So this so-called rich white man who is supposedly not a sugar daddy couldn't afford to get her a decent wig since the husband clearly did not??? Damn this girl needs saving 😭😭

This brings up a good point. If people can change their gender why can’t they change their race?

Acting white? Ohhh boy... I've been called that a few times in my life... Soooo if a white person acts like a thug, they're acting black? Illogical excuse. I'll admit, I grew up in a white neighborhood. But using skintones to refer to someone's actions is stupid. It's flat out stupid. Like I've been said to be acting white because my white friend needed me to be with her since she trusts me and she has a heart problem. But because of that, a black girl (she's light skin and ghetto) was the one that brought that up to me when she tried to stop me. And saying why I can't act black as herself (she's a really rude person). To me that's being racist. Idc if you are black, white, orange or yellow, that shit is racist af

i'm as white as a ghost, i blind people when i go swimming, cause of the sun's reflection on my skin. if i am invited somewhere... you better have a container ready for me to put in some food and take it home with me, or else i'll have to take out the one i brought with me, and it's not polite to embarrass a guest.

My mama only bought black dolls and doll babies so i cant relate. Never wanted long or blonde hair growing up. Ive only recently colored my hair and its a cotton candy field. Cant imagine being another race. I love my mama daddy and great grandmama too much..... but white ppl i do know are greedy at cookouts, some have poor credit, and a lot of my family do have good credit. We were far from privileged but lived good.
@annazemke83615 жыл бұрын
I’m white and I understand that privilege is a thing. Just until I found this channel I didn’t realize stuff like this was still happening. I think I’ve been sheltered and I’ve heard about things in the news but racism is something I hope won’t be here in generations to come. Good lord have mercy on everyone’s souls😕

I liked the video the lady is flat out wrong but I can understand why she did what she did because in Chicago black folks do call the city chiraq and the city is falling apart but that doesn’t mean she needs to disrespect her race
