I can't fathom having a car or camper at the mechanic for that long. It surprised me when the Beans had theirs at the mechanics for that long as well. Here in the Netherlands you make an appointment and they usually have the work done the following day or like three days at a maximum giving you a replacement vehicle in the meantime. What 's up with mechanics in the states that it would take that long?

Wasn’t there some kind of contract that said something like “Work to be completed within 6 month period”? They’re only putting a new engine in, should take a week at max. I wouldn’t trust them to organise a piss-up in a brewery having watched this. I would suggest finding someone who knows what they are doing, because these people are just taking you for a ride. You need to sue them for damages to the RV also. It’s terrible.

I would totally stress about the animal issue in Clementine. Can't the garage guys just put the cover over when they aren't working? They don't need to screw it in, just place it over to stop animals going in around the motor. If the critters go up on your bed and pee on the mattress 😭...and in a few months they can do so much more damage to the back.

Reminds me of the movie The Money Pit. When you are all done you will have an old RV with a used engine and transmission, approaching the cost of a new one. Engines get changed and upgraded all the time; it has taken so long already, why would they need it for a 500-mile checkout? I agree with your idea of what the average person would do.
@jackjones53142 жыл бұрын
@@J.R._ I got it. But after the refurb, and 1st engine rebuild it was a good idea; now it needs a new engine which doesn't belong in it so its mods and the required addition of a computer all in a still old RV... the problems have only begun. They have proven they don't need it for fun.

The water pump can cost $200 to $300 alone to replace. A wet flush toilet has a valve that can have water in it. Also all water traps under sinks if not drained can freeze. The most difficult to repair can be water lines that pass through or behind cabinets. They can have a low spot that can retain water and freeze and split open. Blowing out the water system with low pressure air is a good idea and cheap to do. You just need an air adapter that screws in to the "city" water connection. Don,t forget to drain the water heater. Cheaper that filling it with 5 gallons of plumbing anti-freeze. Tom in Canada at the NB-NS border.
